There is no way he will be here next year though. Not with a 6.9 mil roster bonus due. They won't even bother trying to renegotiate it either. Not with him going on 32 by then.
TJ looked really slow last night, more like 2007 then 2008. Leon has to get a least the same amount. I mean with the same 21 guys on the field, when leon touched it we gain yards and when TJ touched it, we got nothing. He gets touched and goes down and can't get outside. Hell, leon seems more powerful
TJ looked very slow and indecisive last night and ran like he he had 4 pounds of fresh crap in his pants. Unless it was due to his sore ribs, I could not otherwise imagine why Greene wasn't brought in for the goal line opportunity.
TJ looked terrible in preseason last year, nearly identical to how he is playing now. Now, I'm not saying he is going to repeat what he did last season, but I wouldn't worry about it yet.
First, there is NO WAY TJ gets cut before the season begins, nor will he be traded. Unfortunately, he's a lot like Curtis Martin. He's very consistent, but boring as hell. Never breaks anything more than 10-15 yards, but plays every week and always gains 80+. I think he will be fine and looks very similar to the back I saw last year. The disconcerting thing is his goal line running. His work inside the five is very reminiscent of the 2007 TJ. He gets the ball and instead of hitting the hole hard, he's too busy dancing around. I would not be surprised is Greene ends up getting 75% of the goal line work. After this season, TJ is gone. No doubt.
I take issue with this, Thomas Jones doesn't belong anywhere near the same conversation as Curtis Martin. CMart is an all time great RB, a hall of famer. TJones is a JAG, no similarities as far as their careers go.
We have a GREAT duo, I am 100% confident leon will get more touches and they will be alot closer to splitting carries than they were the last 2 years, i also think Green will get plenty of carries too. We have a great group of backs to choose from.
yes that is exactly the truth. People hear were flipping out that TJ was awful and we should try to trade him and blah blah blah.... then by the end of week 2, people were all happy about TJ....
