the carries should be split this year

Rex better stick by his word and use Leon!

Leon need to get the ball 10-15 times at least per game.... The rest of the workload can be distributed between Jones and Greene accordingly.

Leon is nothing short of explosive. Pay the man!! Sanchez needs to be able to develop and I'd put the offense on Leon's shoulders this year. At least until Sanchez gets his feet wet and gains some confidence. I think Leon IS the offense. There's no way Rex keeps him off the field. He wants to run the ball and Leon gains yards. And Jones is no slouch either, he's a heck of a back himself. Put Greene in the mix and everyone should have fresh legs that could wreak havoc on a tired defense.

I think with a rookie QB, this will not be an issue, unlike with Barney (Purple Dinosaur).

TJ looked slow and hesitant tonight. Leon the opposite.

I still don't accept the assumption that Leon is too small to be a #1 back. But, whatever...they're all gonna get their touches and it will work.

A 2-back system seems to be the way to go as of late regardless. If Greene pans out, we could have our RB tandem set for years with LW and Greene.

Giving one guy 350 carries a season is wearing guys out too fast.

I Can see them getting away from that and using T.J. alot more then Leon but i hope not. It would be a very stupid move.

Totally agree that TJ looks tentative.

Totally agree that LEON, though he didn't have a great game, looks fearless.

Washington looked and played like the starter tonight and Jones the backup. I hope that was because they are.

Leon and TJ need to split it even this year 40% of the plays each... Greene can get the final 20%

Tj is getting old for the RB postion and he got too many carries last year and the year before.

Leons best aspect is his kick return.

TJ looks like crap. No idea if it is age creeping up or whatnot but in addtion to looking slow and being tackled by a good stiff breeze, I also noticed a little sag in his biceps...... that is a major worry.

TJ refuses to run behind Mangold after the whole car thing.

TJ is getting up there. He really has not looked good in preseason at this point and I think there's a real chance he's a cut at the end. It's going to depend on Shonn Greene and how sturdy he seems at the deadline.

I think the backs will be used in a very situational kind of role this year.

Jones will open up the games and try to be a pace setter in the first quarter, where the Jets don't really take any chances and just try to get something going. Jones will also obviously be the goal line back, at least this season.

Leon will get more involved on obvious passing downs as well as towards the middle and the end of the game. He'll be in there whenever large chunks of yardage are needed.

Greene will be the closer when the Jets have the lead.

I have no problem with a two back system but I can't for the life of me figure out why Leon isn't the starter with TJ being the change of pace back. Bottomline is we are a better offense when Leon is in the game then we are when TJ is. TJ is at best average while Leon is explosive, seems like an easy choice to me.

Long term consideration... if Leon gets 300+ carries we're going to wear him down rather quickly... Jones is still a very capable back.

As long as Leon gets 15+ touches a game, the Jets will be in great shape... now and in the future.

How the F*%k did Mangini only let this guy touch the ball a few times a game last year?
