http://www.justin.tv/stealthshotdotnet2/archive# click on the middle "Aug 29th 2009" link and give it a minute. I time bar looks like it only has 5 minutes but it is the whole game. You can advance the game by 5 minute increments by hitting the right arrow. If you have a good download speed you are set. I download the stream faster than it plays so no pausing or glitches.
By the way, isn't it ironic that when Gholston finally gets to hit a QB, its David Carr? Who hasn't sacked that guy at this point?
Jets fans really piss me off sometimes. Seems like most of you are just waiting for him to do one negative thing to start screaming BUST, TERRIBLE, or whatever adjective you can come up with at the time. He did some good things and some bad things last night. He's getting better. Stop hating for the sake of hating. I swear half of you don't even understand he has responsibilities to maintain on the field. There's a reason he stays engaged with a blocker and doesn't get the tackle when he has contain responsibility.
you sir, are correct. i was talking to Jam. during the game and I noticed Gholston is actually trying to use his hands to separate and get off his blocks......the only catch is hes doing it too late at times. but still, this is progress. one thing hes definitely good at his outside containment. i missed the 2nd half so i cant speak about what he did then, but I dont get how the guy gets his first sack and people want to blame it on him that he was the victim of a bad call. everybody wants results now, but the drafting of gholston was a project from the beginning. everyone should realize this and wait till the end of his 3rd year before they start making blanket statements. if we had drafted pace wed be calling him a bust, the guy didnt do shit till like his 4th or 5th yr. and now everyone loves the guy (deservedly so)
You sir are wrong! I was saying don't draft this kid from way before we drafted him. He is a BUST and no matter how you spin it, NOT one player drafted in the whole first round last year has shown less than him. Starting year two he is still playing worste than half the undrafted FA we brought in.
lol i never wanted to draft him, but the reality is. hes on our roster. so all you can do is scream bust till hes off the roster. or wait. im not saying hes gonna be some sackmaster. im just saying instead of no progress hes showing slow progress. wed want more than that out of the pick we wasted on him. but like i said thats just reality. we reached and it blew up in our faces. id rather see progress though because everyones sentiment is basically he wont be in the NFL come the end of this year.
If he's thinking too much and not reacting, this won't help him. He finally gets a clean sack and the hit is ruled illegal, so hopefully this doesn't make him more tentative.
Please tell me what I'm wrong about. Let's break this down. Undeniable fact. Clearly I'm stating an opinion here. This cannot be wrong. Fact. If you understand the game and watch objectively rather than with your hand on the bust buzzer you'd realize this. This means you. This means you.
This right here is dead on. Like it or not, he's on the roster and we're paying for him. Everyone recognizes that he hasn't played up to expectations at this point. It's time to shift those expectations. As long as we're paying for him, I say get what we can out of him. Any progress is better than what he showed yesterday.
it's somewhere to start... and don, fuck you.... I'm jumping on the bandwagon because I WANT gholston to succeed.... Its obvious he progressed tonight and if you don't realize that you are just one of the other assholes that get-off on seeing gholston fail.
Was he better last night? Marginally... but I'm still not impressed. I keyed in on Gholston for much of the game, and noticed right away that the Giants were running the ball directly at him with great success. He was often abused at the point of attack, usually wound up chasing the play from the behind and giving a little love tap to the ballcarrier once he'd already been tackled by someone else. He did make one tackle on his own, albeit nearly 30 yards downfield. Whoopdee doo. He did get a couple of QB pressures, which is more than we've seen from him in the past. I will give him that. His bull rush was somewhat more effective, but the guy is still being stood up and completely neutralized 9 out of 10 times, sometimes by TEs. He just still looks confused to me, and appears to run around like a doofus just for the sake of running around. He tripped over his own two feet a couple of times, most notably on the play where he whiffed on Carr and wound up chasing him to the sideline like a circus clown. It was nice to see him finally get to the QB, but unfortunately it didn't require any skill in this particular case. Oh well. At least he hit someone.
One of the best things I have read on this forum. Some would rather they are proved right about a player than that player perform for 'there' team. Frustrating as hell to come on after he shows progress and have people slating him.
No offense, but why do you give a shit what other Jets fans think? It doesn't take long on this board to realize that half the people here don't have a clue what they're talking about, and it still pisses you off? It's great to talk football with the good fans such as yourself, but don't get all worked up over those who just don't get it.
I agree with the majority...It has taken some time but It may have been his coming out game...or his coming out series since it was that one series that I started seeing #50 making impacts, the play before "the hit" opened my eyes...he got to Carr quick..just didn't get him. He's coming around. I think he has the right mentoring around him right now, the right coaching, and certainly the physical attributes...
Showing Improvement! He is looking better, he is 23 years old! I:finssuck:ts only preseason, but that Hit on Carr will make any quarterback nervous. I see him pressuring the QB and sometimes getting double teamed. Give him a chance, B.Thomas took likke 4 years to to anything.
