Gholston clearly isn't ready for even 2nd string duty... still, that hit was definitely the highlight of the game for me. I was laughing my ass for a solid 5 minutes because Gholston finally gets to the QB and nearly knocks his fuckin head off in the process, drawing a flag. Only the Ghost could pull that off... priceless.

Nice Sack and those faggot refs should shove those yellow towels up there asses. Nice play but he still looked pretty shitty out there.

At least his boyfriend Clowney is happy with his play.

    Gholston was awesome tonight!

And when I saw awesome, needless to say, I'm not talking about football prowess. I gave up on that long ago. I'm talking about his entertainment level! He's like comic relief, and tonight he was great. He was like Gerry Lewis out there god bless him. Bravo!

Fuck this Bust bullshit. I'm joining in on the supporting VG wagon. He played very well considering how bad he has played previously. He showed progression and that is all that matters. Oh, and VG has his first sack tonight. Not an official sack, but the penalty was bullshit.

Totally agree...that was a ridiculous call. If it was truly meant to be helmet to helmet Carr would never had gotten up. It was a very clean play.

I thought Gholston played pretty well too. Yeah....he continues to face up with oline men instead of trying to beat them...but he got better tonite. How much better? Time will tell.

You realize how you sound, don't you? Because he did absolutely nothing in his first year plus, you are willing to jump on the bandwagon because he had 1 tackle today..wow, really?

It's amazing how many people can watch the same thing and come to different conclusions. I thought Vernon played really well. He repeatedly held up at the point, he was held a bunch of times AND doubled. I am still waiting for a little more urgency with the hands as well as some counter moves, but I am not AT ALL disappointed. As for the call: questionable.

That's not enough for an overall #6 pick who got a 40 million dollar contract. That's why you keep hearing diverse comments about him. It needs to be put in perspective. He is supposed to be an elite OLB. He needs to start producing like one for people to jump on his bandwagon. Taking on blocks can be done by any 6th stringer.

Ghost had another night showing why he is a BUST!

He is credited with 1, that ONE tackle and he played most the game. He game up a sure sack for a 15 yard penalty and 1st down.

He was chasing every play from behind.

He couldn't get off a block if his job depended on it. Lucky for him he gets paid anyways.

He tried to bull rush evryone. Even guys with 50+ pounds on him.

He has learned no technic and is still the same guy he was in college.

He will be the target of evry running play when he is on the field.

This. Gholston is very lucky that he had that sack that a Pop Warner player could have made unblocked and coming from the QB's blindside. The reason being is it made everyone forget the play right before this when he made one of the more embarrassing plays an NFL player could make. He let David Carr beat him to the corner when he had Carr for a loss behind the line and then Ghost tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground as Carr ran right past him for a first down.

The real joke of this thread is that we're justifying a borderline NFL player because he had about 3 real QB pressures in the game and 1 tackle. He has a LONG way to go and most guys in a similar position don't get the number of endless opportunities that we are giving him. He has some of the worst natural football instincts I've seen on a pro and stands upright and never gets low.

Anyone know where I can see video of this? I missed the game last night and I doubt they are going to show it in any highlights on tv

Gholston made Carr fell like he was back in a houston uniform! After that hit he was done!

At least the haters will have to agree that we saw signs of life from the ghost! I think this guy is just going to take a long time to develop.

this from a non GHOLSTON supporter or hater----he stunk!
They ran right at him ,,,alot!!
As someone else said he was chasing down plays from behind!
The penalty on him was bogus but he came in untouched/ unblocked ,my kid can make that play!
He looked very awkward to me running around out there,,especially on the play where Carr outran him and he fell down!
