It will matter in November if the Jets sell out. Giants fans should have their seat locatoins by November and will then be allowed to visit the stadium and sit in their seats. If they do not like them they can then give up their seats.

We all agree that the sightlines in this stadium are awful. If Giants fans start to post or talk to Jets fans about what locations have awful views if the Jets try to sell them and someone has a heads up from a Giants fan that a certain location has an awful view then they're really in trouble.[/QUOTE]

Ok - so now Jet fans are going to listen to Giant fans and not buy seats based on their opinions. Sorry , you're really reaching now.

My only point in comparing the teams, and prices...is that we haven't won shit in 40 years!! You can't expect a fan base of the Jets to bear the same, if not higher PSL fees than a team who has been to the Superbowl 4 times in the past 40 years, and won 3 of them. That's all. So if you can't sell out a stadium for a highly successful team, what makes Woody think he can sell out for a mediocre team??

GREED -- always gets in the way of rudimentary thinking.

I mean even the loser spankees went greedy this year and with all their loser fans, they're still not selling out games. Maybe they are now that they're back in contention but certainly not earlier.

No offense to spankees fans on this site.

If you're considering mezzanine B and you hear from Giants fans who saw the inside that they are awful and past row 15 there are columns in the way you may reconsidering buying in that area.

The Jets and Giants can be compared though. If a Giant fan is paying 10k for a sideline PSL and a Jets fan is paying 15k fans may have an issue. It's like buying a car. The Jets are the Ford Taurus and the Giants are the Cadillac. Would you pay more for the Taurus?

But my point is , and always has been. The Jets have set they're pricing . We have two choices as fans pay or not pay - simple as that , it has nothing to do with the Giants and they're fans or how successfull they have been.

Take two cars a Toyota and a Ford . The Toyota has won all kinds of awards and is priced lower than the Ford. But wanting a Ford you shell out more money for your preference. They're both cars and sold in the same city , but because they're independent companies from one another ( well for the momnet at least - no telling what Obama has up his sleeve ) they set prices as they feel necessary. yes. they will do their market research but in the end they have the say on their product.

Sorry , I'm not trying to be a hard ass here or even a shill for Woody as others have accused us taking this stance. The bottom line is , I hate the PSL's but I love the Jets and football. And I'm way sick of hearing the comparisons to the Giants and our fans inferiority complex associated with them.

I spoke to the ticket office earlier this week and they stated they'd resume with 91 in Sept.

i would assume they are waiting for the season to start. hoping a hot start combined with shit upper deck non psl seats left, will influence people to purchase the PSL seats.

if we start off 1-4,oh boy woody you are gonna take it in the ass....

I logged on to my Jet account to email someone the Eagle tickets, and there is an extra set of upper deck tickets in my account for this game only. I immediately called my friend who logged on and found 2 in his account as well, just for this preseason game.. Anyone else out there have 2 extra tickets in their account..

I better log into my account for my 2 free Suberbowl tickets then. I figure I've been paying through the fucking nose for these preseasons long enough to have earned them by now, so they must be in my account.

    Fucking Woody Johnson....

I'm convinced Woody put a temporary moratorium on the calls to stem the tide of people flooding into the Uppers, not because of "vacations" and whatever other cockamamie "reasons" they have for temporarily discontinuing the calls this summer. It's such nonsense. Woody has turned this FO into a pack of morbidly obsessive liars. So many ticketholders have opted for the Uppers that he figures he's got nothing to lose at this point by giving it a rest.

I also think he's counting on the economy improving slightly and therefore people "coming to their senses" and realizing what a great value it is for 227 to remain in his 4 Mezz seats and pay $30,000 with a ticket price of $1600 per game instead of $480.

My guess is, the moratorium will only make things worse, as we discussed the other day. People have had a chance to really think it through and wake up and smell the coffee, as in "No live Jets game is worth that kind of money."
That, coupled with the fact that the Jets are now playing "Let's Make A Deal" with the 2009 tickets, they've created their own self-fulfilling, possible future discount scenario much the same as a car dealer or retailer who continually offers permanent rebates and discounts to the point where no one will buy the product unless it has some kind of rebate or discount.

So when the phones are open for business again, it will be business as usual and the slide to fill the Uppers will continue until every single PSL-free Upper is sold out. At that point, the only product they'll have for sale are the PSL seats, and poor ones at that. Who in their right mind is going to pay the same PSL and seat price for the 25th Row in the Mezz, when the guy in Row 1 is paying the same? $30,000 and $1600 per game to sit behind a lot of people in an End Zone? No, I don't think so.

I think he's hoping for a 3-1 start and the fans get excited and buy the PSLs. I think this stadium will sell out but it will take a decade to do so.

I was given two extra tickets to the Eagles game also. Big deal. In 30 years I've gone to one half of a preseason game and I wondered why I bothered after I got there.

I called the Jet ticket office to complain about them offering season ticket packages to people without them having to buy preseason games. I told them they should give all current season ticket holders refunds on preseason games.

Here is the response I got. The new season ticket holders being offered this deal are at the bottom of the seniority rung, plus with one preseason game already played and one a week away, they don't feel they can sell the tickets otherwise. They told me I could take the deal, end up with lousy seats at the top of the upper deck, and have my seniority changed to 2009 instead of 1980. I told them I'm not sure it matters anymore because I have my tickets in the new stadium already and because I went in the UD, my seniority means nothing. In any event, they said they have less then 1000 seats to sell.

I also asked about the progress selling the 2010 seats in the new stadium. They have not restarted the calls yet. The ticket agent said that the PSLs are outselling the UD so far (right!) and that there are UD seats left on the sidelines in the last few rows and in the end zone. This is counter to what a friend of mine with 1992 seniority told me - that the UD was virtually sold out except for the end zones.
