Very interesting quote from Scott there.

It's very possible Scott was just talking shit. Of course, it would be great if Rex was actually acting as the HC - then we don't have a rookie HC.

    Can we get a link?

Words are words. We'll see soon enough how good a coach Rex is.

He reminds me a bit of Walt Michaels actually. Michaels was tougher and more grizzled but the tendency to shoot from the lip was there also and then do whatever he had to to back it up.

I loved Walt Michaels BTW. The first day that I was really pissed off at the Jets was the day they let him go.

Im too young to rememnber him but some people say if they didnt fire him, he would have won the Jets a Superbowl.

His father was the best DC of all time. Rex has been the best of the last decade. Of course there is a similarity. We will see if he is a better HC over time. He will get plenty of time here to prove it.

I hope Rex punches Schotty in the face (like Daddy did to Gilbride) the next time Schotty calls a reverse inside his own 20.

Walt Michaels was doomed the moment he a) turned up pissed at a news conf and b) became obsessed with Al Davis.

I say bring back Lou Holtz if this goes tits up , his hair is worth the entry fee!!!

Isn't rant kind of a strong (and incorrect) word for the way Rex speaks? Doesn't the person who wrote this have any familiarity with dictionary and/or a thesaurus?

Ryan's "rant," which comes with smiles and the word "fun":

Oh - I see, its PFT's leading light, Florio. Never mind.

For the edification of the idiotic clown who wrote this trash, here's a "rant":

The point of posting the article was to share the Bart Scott comments. I apologize if I've wasted a precious 30 seconds of your life.

Just to clarify WSW, I appreciate the post, but think Florio is an idiot.

WSW, you have to tell me its a Florio article.

that negates all of this from being true.

  19. He seems to have alittle more charisma w/ the media, players and fans than Buddy did....

..W/ that said...If he's a version of his father, than we are a very lucky franchise.Say what you will about him, but Buddy has all those rings for a reason. Aside from bellichick, he's quite possibly the greatest defensive mind the NFL has ever seen. Nothing wrong w/ a chip off the old block. While we're at it, can we find out if Tanny is somehow Bill Pollian's and Dan Rooney's lovechild?
