What happened to #17? Yesterday we were doing #18, right? Matt Robinson in the house today? Anyway, since we're posting #16s, here's a real 40-year-old QB who doesn't cry on TV:
Someone had posted some 17's, I left it blank so MattRobinson could posts some Matt Robinson pics:grin:
Someone could post that #17 dude dropping a TD pass last night. Turned out ok, we still got the TD and used up all the clock.
Dick Jamieson Babe Parilli Chuck Ramsey article on Kyle mackey: http://www.nytimes.com/1989/10/13/sports/jets-make-the-big-switch-at-right-time-for-mackey.html
Ramsey stood in front of us during pretty much the whole game one time. The 1981 Seattle game at Shea, we had low sideline seats behind the Jet bench and we could barely see around the players, mainly him because the punter rarely goes on the field. That was the same day as Game 5 of the Dodgers-Yankees World Series when Goose Gossage hit Ron Cey in the head but the Dodgers won the game 2-1. Jets didn't do as well, lost 19-3, first play from scrimmage an 80-yard Richard Todd-to-Wesley Walker TD called back by a Chris Ward holding penalty.
I was at that game too Seafood, I thought we had another TD called back or we had a dozen or so penalties, the only game I ever brought my wife to...very frustrating game, the Seahawks used to beat us like a drum in those days...
Had to pick that game, did ya? Todd played here eight seasons and you pick that one. It's the whole Todd/Robinson thing, isn't it?
I always had an intense dislike for Todd, mostly because he replaced Joe Willie, but also because I still to this day believe Matt Robinson was better than him...Matt had two qualities Todd never had, Leadership and Charisma...
Perhaps, but it wasn't Todd's fault Robinson had the "doorknob" incident or whatever it turned out to be. Michaels never forgave him for that OT duck vs Cleveland, I don't think he ever played a down for us after that week and he had won the job in camp. But yeah, most of that 1978 season was Robinson's doing even though we got off 2-0 in the division with Todd. Wasn't Todd's fault he had to replace Namath, either, and I think being from Alabama didn't help him with that.
