Can I root for both of them to lose?

Ok, I'll play: since the Browns are an AFC team, I'll root for the Vikes.

This reminds me - has Eric Mangini knocked up his wife yet? Little Braylon Mangini can't be far off.

There you go. An easy one. It's all about how it affects the Jets once the real bullets start flying.

You mean, who do you root against?

I hate fukin' Burt, but seeing as how I have a $100 bet on the season's final record with my friend from Cleveland, gotta go with the Vicodins. My friend actually thinks Mangini will help his team *snicker*.

I think he announced it already. He said his wife has a medical condition in the torso.

Favre sabotaged our season, at least Mangini cared about winning and wanted to win rather than flee town.

Mangini had two winning seasons here out of three and if not for Favre probably to the playoffs twice. He's not Rich Kotite.

When prompted further, Mangini responded, "I have nothing further to add, I'm not a doctor."

Yeah, you're right. I hated it when Herm stopped caring and fled town.

As far as Mangini, while he may have wanted to win more than anything, abandoning your defensive schemes completely and allowing an injured QB to throw pick after pick when your running game is obviously your offensive strength is not a very intelligent way of trying to win.

Why would you ever pull for a team that could mathematically eliminate you from the playoffs?
If Adolf Hitler is QB'ing the Vikings and Jesus Christ is coaching the Browns, and the Jets need one more loss by the Browns to make the playoffs...guess who I'm pulling for?

The Vikings. Not because I favour Favre over Mangini, it has nothing to do with them. It's because Cleveland is in the AFC and we need AFC teams to lose to NFC teams because it could have wildcard implications down the road.

I see your point, but I'll add this:

I think more than winning, both those guys wanted more than anything to get the credit for winning. Neither of those guys has the ability to say, "we won today in spite of my poor play/coaching" or "we lost today because of my poor play/coaching."

It's very possible he cared more about preserving his consecutive games streak than the Jets' season. Remember at the time nobody knew if he was hurt or how badly, was that Mangini or was that Favre? I don't know and neither guy would tell us. Maybe he shouldn't have been out there if he couldn't do his job.
