    Positive post here-

Liked what I saw from our first-year tackling machine, especially when you consider his slump last year with lagging injuries.

He looked fresh, fast and aggressive last night, and I'm not sure if the scheme we use is set up in such a way where Scott's presence allows Harris to freelance more than in season's past.

Glad to see that he's taking off, and especially when you consider that he's playing with 2nd and 3rd string DT's in front of him against the starting Ravens squad.

The defense is going to be nasty when Jenkins gets back in the lineup.

Have to cut the D some slack when you are missing your two best playmakers...

Definitely. I'm not at all worried about the defense, it's going to be very good this year. The passing game is the only thing that really scares me at this point.

But getting back on track, Harris definitely is underrated because of his injuries last year. I definitely think having Jenkins in front of him and an aggressive system to play in, he's going to look like an all-star this year. He'll probably be better than Scott even.

Jenkins and Revis. I just can't wait until they are back into the lineup, because it was obvious that our main deficiencies on defense last night were at CB and NT. I say 'deficiencies' from a critical standpoint, because the D still looked very good without them.

I really don't think the secondary was that bad. The Jets were rushing 4 at one point and that's when Flacco started finding some very open receivers.

It should be painfully obvious to the league at this point... get pressure on the QB, and good things will happen for the defense... don't get pressure, well, you get what we got last night.

The defense was exciting and aggressive, as advertised. They got burned a few times due to poor coverage, but that will improve when Revis returns. Harris looked great and looks poised to breakout this year. People bitched about the secondary and while the coverage was bad on Lowery's side, Rhodes made some great plays. Rhodes looks like the Rhodes of a few years ago, that is a great sign.

Yes, we were rushing 4, but Flacco knew which number to attack. Ol' reliable number 30. I don't know why Coleman is still on the roster.

He looked good last week too. He and Scott in the middle are going to be ferocious, especially with big Jenx in front of them. I have no doubt this defense is going to be very good.

The offense on the other hand ...

I am letting go of all hope at this point. This kid has shown nothing and he's not even deserving of being on the roster at this point. I will actually be pissed if he starts over Westerman.

Anyway, back to David Harris - I totally agree. He is playing fast and aggressive and he looks to have a breakout year in this Defense.

That was the best sign for me last ngiht, not Harris, but the Jets shutting down the ravens running game with the combo or Green and Phoua at NT. It looks like our Depth there may not be as bad as I feared.

Harris and Scott are a monster of a tandem at ILB in the 3-4. They are both goign to get thier chances to Blitz and both play some coverage. The big thing is it will never be easy for defenses to tell which one is doing what on any given play. Once we have Revis and Jenkins back things are goign to get very scary for opposing offenses. Our D is looking to be beastly this season.

Yeah, that?s what it comes down to, get pressure or get burned. Heck, they even start to put dancer OTs on the Right side (Jason Smith).

He's certainly making a case for it this preseason. I can't wait until week 5 just to see the D at full strength.

I like Harris in this defense. Keep an eye on Jamal Westerman from Rutgers, too, I think he's going to surprise people, especially if Gholston doesn't step it up.

Westerman showed more last night the Gholston has thus far in 2 preseasons. He has a high motor and if he keeps it up I can not see how he would not make the 53 man roster.

I was reading where Greg Schiano at Rutgers tries to get his defensive players to understand the entire defense, not just their own assignments, and that is helping Westerman in Ryan's D as they move people around a lot and ask them to do different things.
