Clowney winning the starting Job would be the best thing, that could happen. He is the most talented of the Group, and when he earns that Job, it means that he got his head into Practise. Also Stucky fits a lot better in the slot than outside. Clowney, Cotch and Stucky in the Slot sounds a lot better than Stucky, Cotch and Brad Smith in the Slot.
Even if Stucky gets the nod as the #2, he's going to play the slot in 3WR sets with Clowney or Smith playing the Z position.
I huess by all the REX quotes and these posts, we can only be sure of one thing-----the Jets are going to trade for a WR REAL SOON!
holla! I joined a live chat w/Clowney last night. People could connect with a web cam and it showed all the web cam people over the chat. They also had audio. Anyway, Clowney is answering questions about the Jets and football and this stupid bitch interrupts ... "I have a question." Clowney stops, and asks her "what's up". She says "when are you coming back?", like she's the only one in the chat. Random story, but I thought it was funny. I hope he wins the #2 spot. If nothing else he'll help keep the safeties honest.
I had the highest hopes for Clowney so I'm really happy to see this. Hopefully it translates to a legitimate deep threat for the offense.
Lets hope that Clowney is not the 2nd coming of Charles Rogers (injury wise). That and his "twitish" demeanor really put a cloud over the clown for me. If he can stay injury free, produce in the regular season like it's the preseason and stop acting so douchebaglicious he just might be something. We will see.
If Clowney is a reliable deep threat and Cotchery is our YAC wr and we have Stuckey in the slot (who i think will be terrific this year) and Dustin Keller at TE. Maybe we have a WR corp that is way under the radar.
I think "The Clown" gets a bad wrap for his Tweets. I've seen him in interviews, and I've read what he's wrote outside of Twitter. He's very professional about how he presents himself. He even uses all the proper punctuation and everything. I remember when I got a response from him on the email I wrote him about what his Xbox Live Gamertag was, he was really cool about it. Seems like a down to Earth kinda' guy. It does seem kind of wierd to me though how he portrays two different personalities. His professional manner, then there's his Twitter personality. Maybe he feels like he's gotta' live up to some kind of act on Twitter because he's got a lot of friends on there from when he was younger and he doesn't wanna seem like he's changed. I'm probably just reading into it too deep though.
Any chance he's just joking around or being ironic in his tweets? He could just be playing a big joke on everyone in a well thought out and well organized...oh, wait, non O-Line football player. Nevermind.
The real question is who the fuck cares how he tweets or twits or however the fuck you say it. The guy is a football player not a brain surgeon. I'd much rather have guys on the team that act like douchebags on twitter then making it rain in a stripclub. Bottomline if Clowney produces in the regular season like he does in preseason I'm going to love him, if he doesn't I won't. It really is that simple.
I'd love to see Clowney stay healthy and take the job. It's been a long time since we've had a real speed burner as one of our top 2 WRS, can't even remember the last time.
You just cut and resigned Pizzotti and are giving him one series in the second half while Ainge gets the rest of the half...why not just say he's getting cut by Sept. 5? I guess for Pizzotti it is an opportunity to show some upside to another team who loses a player and might sign him to a practice squad or something....
