Most crimnals don't walk into a gun store and register a legal firearm. They get their guns from corrupt people dealing out guns from PD lockups. All gun laws do is make it so law abiding citizens can't defend themselves against the thug with an illegal gun. Fucking retarded.
He was never offered 3 months. Lowest term offered initially was 2 years and that was just discussed with great interest over the last 48 hours. The Manhattan DA and Mayor's office were not going to take the tough stance shown early on just to give the guy 3 months in the bootyhouse....
Yeah I just read, 1 year was never offered as well. Guess they were just out for him. But then again wasn't indicted on 2 counts that each had a mandatory 3 year sentence?
It depends on your definition of criminal. Plaxico is a criminal. He was carrying an unholstered, concealed handgun, with the safety off mind you, at busy nightclub while drinking alcohol and discharged the weapon in the club. That is as much a criminal as one that uses a illegally obtained handgun to mug you. I hope gun laws makes it more difficult both types of criminals to obtain these weapons.
Most criminals get there guns through gun dealers who operate legally in States like Virginia who protect their gun dealers who sell guns that are used by criminals.
he got off easy, he should consider himself lucky they should have just given him the mandatory sentence of 3.5 years
