As somebody else pointed out, that's fine if they do. Rather the panic and mistakes come in a preseason game. Only if you don't believe that Sanchez will be named the starter no matter what would this be anything to worry about.
Yeah we all want to see that , but with the O line thats going to give him the protection in an even fight. I'm not really making my point well enough, so, what I mean is that the Ravens D is rampant and against our patched up o line, I don't want to see unlikely situations or big clumsy linemen falling backwards across our new QB. Of course theres no given that any of that will or could happen, but there is still a chance. I also happen to belive from what we have seen and heard from MS, that he will phyiscally and emotionally be able to handle the "in your face" kind of D that will be at him. We all just don't want to see something stupid happen.
Are you getting a image of Ray Lewis running through the middle and ripping Sanchez's head off his shoulders? We don't have to worry about that, it's physically impossible....right?
The Sanchez era will come to an end on Monday and he will play like someone who has no experience. Clemens will shine and all the talk about starting a rookie will end and we can move on and try to win the division instead of giving up on the season in order to play Sanchez. That's what you are all worried about.
The Sanchez era will come to an end in his second preseason game of his rookie season? You don't seem biased at all.
everyone in baltimore loves ryan still from what i understand. i'm sure their defense will be going hard, but i would expect they will be civil to sanchez should they get a sack on him. i doubt he will be getting his leg twisted or eye poked at the end of a play. other than that football is a dangerous sport and freak injuries happen.
Who is saying give up the division or the season? Play the guy that gives us the best chance to win. That seems to be Sanchez up to this point. What's so hard to understand about that?
What i don't get is some of this namby pamby attitude by people who call themselves jets fans. Stop acting like richard near. Its FOOTBALL. You line up, kick butt, and go for it. There is no room for fear. Grow a set. If you are afraid get the hell off the team. Nobody wants fans or players who act like wussies. Follow Rex Ryan's example: Lets Kick some Ass.
Huge difference between concern and fear. The whole point I'm failing miserably to convey is that this is a meaningless game that could turn into something more than just a pre-season walk out. I don't want anyone, especially Sanchez getting needlessly roughed up and having a detrimental affect. We have something really good going on here and there is genuine hope for the future. Sanchez strikes me as being a great warrior and leader, but hes still a rookie and may make fearless foolhardy decisions that could cost us and him. Take that onboard and the fact that we also have some key linemen missing and you have where I am, concerned. Now we have trash talk happening as well, so it looks like the encounter will be more than just a pre season friendly. I hope for us and especially Rex Ryan that Baltimore get their asses handed to them and we come out of this encounter injury-less .
Maybe we should wrap Sanchez in bubble wrap and hide him behind the Gatorade coolers until the regular season begins.
You might want to man up and realize that there is zero room for "fear" or "concern" in football. Its tackle football. Smashmouth. Hitting people hard is an integral part of the game. The people that tend to get hurt are those who are in fear or are apprehensive. Sitting around getting your panties in a knot because somebody might get hit hard or injured is an idiotic way to look at the game. Its an opportunity to play well. Its an opportunity to gain mkuch needed experience against a great team. its an opportunity to hit and be hit in live action - We love it. If you think you need steroids to enjoy the poetic violence of football then you are nuts. If you want assurance of no injuries to key personnel just keep them all of on the sidelines. Thankfully Rex Ryan doesn't play that way.
Hey Einstein - its not about being a pussy or being a big man. Its about understanding what this game is about and how it must be played in order to be successful. The Jets need to improve. The Jets need to have their players play football in order to improve. Rex Ryan doesn't have the luxury of hiding his top new rookies just because the team isn't in perfect health coming into this game - Sanchez and everybody else who is physically capable NEED to play in order to get better so that they can improve their chances of having a successful season - Do you get that???? They are on a schedule and have a plan to get ready - You can't just stop everything because alan faneca breaks a finger or somebody has a back spasm. The Train needs to roll on. So there is no frikken sense in having concerns or fear - if you want to be successful you have to go out and hit and work and get better - there is no substitute. Can an injury happen? ABsolutely. But you are more likely to have an injury when your QB hasn't had enough real game work with his offense because you were afraid to play him unless everybody on the OL was a starter. So you strap it on and go after it. Hopefully he gets some good work in and then you put in the backup Qbs so they get a chance.
