That's right. I will be quiet and enjoy watching VG sleepwalk into the regular season. :)

Clearly he's a huge downgrade from Pace right now. He does look more fluid than last year though.

Jet Nation did a pretty good job showing some good and bad from Gladys in the preseason game. He was taking on double teams for some reason - probably just what the play called for.

Ryan mentioned in his presser how Gholston was key in freeing up Harris for a sack. So no, he didn't get the shiny stat, but he was key in the team making a big play. Ryan stresses the unit, not the individual. I think this was part of the purpose of his little meeting with reporters breaking down game film.

I'm not trying to milk his manhood, I just notice progress from last season. We're going to miss Pace the first 4 games though.

I agree 100%. The Ghost was involved in a QB pressure but other than that, I really didn't see any real "improvement" worthy of a #6pick coming into his own. It looked alot like Vern of '08. Nothing stood out. Nothing in his play or demeanor. Just a guy at work was what I saw. He could have not been in the game at all and it wouldn't have made anyone notice.

Sadly, his new nickname might be "Buster"..

I like calling him "paper weight"....because all he does is take up valuable space on the roster without serving any REAL purpose.

And the thing is...I'm ROOTING for him to do well.....i want to see an return on investment with this guy....but he hasn't shown much, up to this point. I'm hoping that changes drastically as we approach the season though.

St. Louis did have the 27th worse offense in football last year. Anything he may have done against that line should be taken with a grain of salt anyway.

I bet you that if Gholston goes to Giants.....He reaches his potential. Line him up next to Justin Tuck....And step back !!!

The Jets are getting bigger over the last couple of seasons. No more men vs boys the way the Pats-Jets matchup used to look. Kris Jenkins is huge and Faneca was a significant increase in drive power for the offensive line.

Now if they could just get a few of the huge OLB's to play huge and fast we'd be in good shape.

that is the key to a 3-4. Besides the anchoring NT of course.

Man, for the life of me I just can't get the image of him trying to track down Cutler last year and looking like Ryan could beat him in a race...

    LOL

I still have that same image in my head too- until he does something to change that memory, that's how I will remember The Ghost.

Lawrence Taylor, Chuck Smith... who wants to make odds on the next guy brought in to try to turn Gholston into an NFL player?
