OK, maybe being too much of a typical Jets fan here, but Sunshine gets the nod and starts against one of the leagues best defenses. And if that wasn't juicy enough, there will also be some players on there that will relish going up against their old D coach. He probably get two series instead of one this week..I don't think it really matters what he does and if the Ravens are as good as they usually are on defense those two series may amount to 6 or 9 plays.
There were a couple pass rusher who went unblocked against Clemens so no doubt it will happen again with the Ravens. He'll live though and I think it will be good practice for him. Plus I'm sure Rex has made it clear to him what he's up against.
Yeah, but let's not forget. Our O-line that year was one of the worst in the league! afa worries go, I love the Ravens style of play but that's about it. They are football players just like the JETS. When you start fearing is when you should just stay home.
Exactly, this is a good learning tool for him. Besides, don't most of the Ravens D players like Ryan? It is not like they hate the guy, he left on good terms.
Yeah, not sure why but I was thinking Woody would be out this week too. Hopefully he and Mangold are back in the lineup.
@ Baltimore. The fear I have is that in those ltd amount of plays, its that 1 in a million chance that always seems to happen to us that unfolds. I guess I'm worried because we now have a whole new promising outlook and the pessimist in worries that the 2 steps forward one back approach may come back once again.
This is a natural mindset of a Jet fan. I still look back at that Brandon Short- Chad Pennington incident with horror and "why us....." feeling.
if there is some way to do it, i'd change that single handedly. I personally never feel the "oh god when is the bad things going to happen" stuff, because you never get to the big game thinking that way, let alone winning it.
Can't protect the guy forever. Personally, I'd like to see him take a few big hits to get him used to it and to give him motivation to not hang on to the ball too long.
I'm glad we're playing the Ravens next. Warm fuzzies for Sanchez in limited action are nice, but I want to see what his escapability is like under pressure, I want to see how he handles sacks, and I want to see how he comes back from a badly-thrown ball that results in an INT. I don't understand why anyone would be worried about a preseason game, unless you think Sanchez is 'like an egg back there'. I don't want my QB coddled, I want him tested.
I think this could get real ugly. Sounds like we'll be down 3 starters on the O line again. Against the vanilla D of the Rams, no big deal, but against the Ravens, they will blitz the heck out of the rook. This is the game where Clemens' experience could make a difference. I would not be surprised to see Sanchez struggle mightilly.
