Curtis I think will be our last #28.

At a game at Shea in 1981 vs the Colts I was in the upper seats behind the home plate end zone with binoculars, and for one play decided to just zoom in on Darrol Ray to see what he does on a given play. He ended up getting an INT off a tipped ball and made a nice runback, I had it all the way. One of those random things that can happen when you're at a game.

I think Cobb ended up getting a ton of carries at the end of 1992, one of those deals where all the RBs were hurt and we were 4-12, so they weren't risking anyone and someone had to get all the carries. I could be mistaken, but I seem to remember being at a cold, nasty game vs the Saints at the end of the year with Cobb getting the ball over and over. I was pretty drunk at that one so maybe not.

I'm not sure if I was the first to do this on here or anywhere else, but I did start doing it on here a few years ago. I didn't "steal" the idea.

Was he with us in 1992? For some reason, I thought I remembered him coming in after Murrell had won the starting job, which wouldn't be until 95/96.

In 1992 and 1993 #28 was Pat Chaffey(I have looked but can't find a pic).

Cobb was w/ us in 1996

Huh. I don't even remember Chaffey, although the name sounds familiar. Not surprising. I was 13 at the time and watching Jets games on a friend's satellite dish.

I liked Chaffey, the only real memorable thing he did was catch the clinching TD from Boomer in the Jets 1993 win at Miami. He got hurt at the end of the 1st half in a blowout win over NE on a Sunday Night in 1993 and never played again.

Could have been late 1996 then, I'm not sure. I thought he fell ass-backwards into being "the man" at RB at the end of a real bad season once--1996 would definitely qualify as one of those.

I forgot we had Buckley. Trying to forget the Atwater year, too.

He was too busy with his Hollywood career to have much of an impact for us.
