Well we're going to have 8-10 people in the league remember. So that means everyone will get a great qb without much tactial effort. It also means there'll be plenty of easily available starting qbs in FA...

If you would prefer to wait until more people commit, that's fine. I just wanted to confirm that it is going to happen. If it is happening, and it is happening on Yahoo, and we're having a live draft, I'm in.

What would you guys say to german booking a live draft at his own discretion and us jsut either trying to make it or letting the system autopick?

I am OK with that even if I miss the draft. My proposal is that he book it for a time that works for him and that he estimate a time that will work for as many others as possible, and the rest of us just do what we can.

I personally don't think that missing a live draft is that much of a disadvantage if you rank positions first. This is just my suggestion because I know people enjoy live drafts, not because I think it will be an advantage or disadvantage to me or anyone else.

Also, regarding scoring: does anyone else agree that a passing TD should be worth 6 pts? I have never understood why Yahoo defaults this to only 4 pts, because in my opinion, it's just as valuable as a rushing, receiving, defensive, or return TD.

Well we should be able to find a common time even if it's in the morning or night for some of us. We basically only have to accomodate east europe, canadian and aus time zones.

I'm glad it will autopick as I can't really commit to a particular time.

How much is the difference between europe and aussi? 12 hours?

You draft a team, and play head-to-head against another team, every week, when you?re RB scroes a TD, you get 6 pt, when rushes for 10 yards, you get 1 pt, and so on, if you got more points, than your oppeonent, you win.

usually there?s a livedraft, but since, i don?t think we?ll find a good draft time, this will probably be a autopick.

Basically, each player you get is awarded points for what they do in the game (IE their real NFL game that week). And the tally of the points each player receives for his performance is added to tha tally for all your other players. That becomes your cumulative team score.

So, an RB gets 6 pts for a TD, and usualyl some fractional amount of points per yard gained that usualyl equated to a point for every 20 yards.

WRs will also get 6 pts for a TD and some fractional amount for each receiving yard gained, which usually adds to aroudn 1 point per 25 yards or 50 yards or whatever it is set to.

QB (should) get 6 pts for a TD pass and, again, some fraction of a point for each passing yard, adding up to 1 point for every 50 or so yards passing. INTs usually cost the QB 1 or 2 points.

Kickers get 1 point for every extra point and 3 points for a FG, but you can award more than 3 pts per FG if you want. Sometimes if it is a long FG, like over 50 yards, you get 4 or 5 points. Missed extra points and missed short FGs sometimes lead to negative points if the league has been set up that way.

For Defence, you pick a team's entire D...so, you woudl be awarded on how the Pats/Jets/Ravens, whoever's Defence performs. You start with 10 points and when that team gets scored on in their game, you lose points from that 10. Howeverm you gain point for defence when that team gets a sack, INT, or TD.

    Hope that helps.

Also, you will get players to put on the bench that you can use if you don't think a particular player will have a good week, or if a particular player doesn't have a game one week. You can also add and drop players at will. So, if you have ladainian Tomlinson on your roster and he gets hurt for the season, you can drop him and add a different RB so long as he isn't on soemone else's roster. You can also trade with other guys in the league if you wish.

This will certainly help you to larn about different teams around the NFL and who their top players are. Yahoo will give news updates throughout the week to let you know if guys are playing or if they are injured. Just always make sure that you have every spot on your roster filled every week, and stay aprised of who the league's top performers are, then try to haev as many on your roster as possible.
