Not saying they don't. Just pointing out the continuing fall of the Big East. A few of their teams should get ranked though.

I'm not going to argue with you over college ball. You know more, you'll win. All I said is that we're seeing the same thing this year that we have the past couple of years. I'm not doubting the talent on that team, I'm doubting the decision-making and game-planning of those in charge. They can bring in as much talent as they want but Weiss' inability to utilize it has been what has been hurting the Irish. If Weiss can prove that he can use that talent then I'll shut up about it. Until then, I'm just going to go with history here.

For Preseason? Who outside of West Virginia deserves to be on this list?
Pitt: greatest accomplishment since jettisoning Walt Harris has been a shitty show at a non-BCS bowl.
Rutgers: lost both of its top WRs and the best QB in the school's history.
UConn: did a great job of tearing through the likes of Hofstra, Temple, Virginia, Baylor, Louisville, Cincinnati, Syracuse, and made it to a bowl game but there is no reason for a Big East team to fall to a Mid-American Conference team or a DI-AA/FCS school.
    Cincinnati:
recruiting has not been enough to keep up with the "top" teams in the conference; also, couldn't beat UConn.
    USF: Ibid.
Syracuse: a terrible team that is turning over another coaching staff.
Louisville: Kragthorpe has a losing record going into his third year at Louisville.

    Hotty Fucking Toddy #10!

Senior Year. If I didn't have to work, it'd be awesome.

Nah I mean within the first few weeks. I hate the BE.

Like, USF will play their 3 cupcakes and most likely get ranked heading into Tallahassee.

^I'm a Pitt alum and I hate the Big East. Completely agree with your USF prediction. They're going to be a fast team that rips through a few soft, non-conference teams and get over-hyped for it. West Virginia should be a good one, though.

If Shady McCoy was still playing for Pitt, I could actually see them being ranked in the top 20. It sucks for the Panthers that he went against his word and left school early...

I completely agree with both of you guys that USF will be one of the more overhyped teams in country because of a good record. They don't play ANYBODY early on. How in the hell did they even get away with this schedule? The Bulls first three opponents are Wofford (I-AA), Western Kentucky (who is one year removed from I-AA), and Charleston Southern (I-AA)...are they serious? USF is a really talented team, I lost a lot of respect for Leavitt and that program after looking at their schedule. The Noles should give them a wake up call.

West Virginia's success depends on Jarrett Brown, but he looks like a hell of a quarterback. The Mountaineers have a kid named Tavon Austin coming in...look him up on youtube. He's a scary talent. By the time his career is over, people might be calling Percy Harvin a poor man's Tavon Austin.

He was following Wannstedt's advice when he left. After McCoy announced that he would return to Pitt, Wannstedt said in an interview that he was still talking to McCoy and not to take McCoy's claim as being set in stone. Judging by his tone in the interview, Wannstedt knew what was at stake for him if he stayed another season and injured himself. NCAA coaches, for the most par, aren't in the business of screwing these kids out of boatloads of money for another college season with them.

haha we can be ranked 10 and not a single mention.

you people need to look at ole miss' schedule. its a fucking cake walk if we were alabama or georgia. true test of the program this year. ive had 3 seasons here. only 1 has been good, and hopefully, this one will be better, but nothing is guaranteed.

however, this home schedule makes me think the rebels will possibly finish the season in a BCS game and with their first shot at the SEC title in years. we have 3 straight at home. then 1 away. then 3 more straight at home. pretty tough to fuck that up, but its ole miss.

    also, jevan snead for heisman.

They have a joke non con schedule...I don't think USF should get ripped if Ole Miss doesn't. Northern Arizona and Southeast Louisiana. Your season is October 10th..... a win an you may run the table to the SEC West title a loss and my bet is your season falls apart and you lose at Auburn and at home to LSU.

    At least they play Bama.

Florida plays Charleston Southern, Troy, and FIU. And they don't play Ole Miss or Bama. Florida has the easiest SEC schedule possible. Which is scary, since they could realistically run the table even if they did play them.

Yeah, mark my words. The SEC comes down to the following possibilities: Ole Miss v Florida in Atlanta or LSU vs probably Florida but give SC a darkhorse.

    It is meaningless.

If you're ranked 23rd, you think that matters at the end? I don't. Like you guys have been saying, Utah had to be ranked higher anyway. Sure if the top 3 teams preseason all go undefeated, guess who gets screwed?

Notre Dame being 23rd means absolutely nothing.

Moral of the story - don't lose and don't be in a meaningless conference. If you win the championship without abiding by both of those, then you had a lucky season. Just because Utah plays a bad schedule and wins every game doesn't mean they deserve a shot at the championship. Notre Dame could win every game this season, and if two other teams go undefeated, they're probably better fit for the championship b/c of ND's schedule.

That statement reaks of ignorance and I know that's not the case....

The MWC was 6-1 vs the Pac 10 last year in the regular season which does mean something, a bottom feeder in Wyoming went to Knoxville and beat Tennessee. Now matter how down the Vols were they should never ever lose to Wyoming at home. Utah beat Oregon State who was the only team that beat USC, TCU held Oklahoma to 35 points in Norman which nobody else could (Florida 14 and Texas 35 both did it at neutral sites). UNLV went to Arizona State and beat the Sundevils in a game they were dogs by over 25 points. BYU handed UCLA their worst loss in 88 years.... New Mexico beat Arizona who was a pretty good team as well.
