You got away with robbery by someone absorbing the stupid contract mistake it would have been stupid to try to be greedy, it is like bitching during a good free meal that you want dessert with it, sometimes it is just better to walk away while you are ahead

I'm stunned the White Sox agreed to pick it up.

I didn't think anyone would claim it and take on the contract.

Toronto is glad to dump it for free. They were going to dump it for less than free when they tried to attach him to a Roy Halladay deal.

they have minimal salary on the books next year. it's a good depth idea to make a playoff push.

I'm thinking the OF next year will be something like Lind, Wells and maybe Snider or Randy Ruiz... maybe they'll pick up somebody cheap like Endy Chavez (assuming he'll ever be able to play again) and they'll be ok. Rios is certainly replacable but I just think going by the season he had 2 years ago it was a liitle early to give up on him so soon and for nothing.

The real issue is Retardi being the GM... what quality FA is going to want to play for him knowing the garbage he pulled with Adam Dunn last year?

I wish there was a cap...

anyway, I'm still in shock over a team being willing to take on that contract. If they were, they should've traded with Toronto before the deadline.

Toronto was willing to give up something to get rid of the Rios and Wells deals.

They were going to take a little less in prospects for Halladay in order to unload Rios's contract in the process.
