just out of curiosity what is the policy for the people who just bought season tickets for this year getting tickets for the new stadium? I know even the non PSL seats required a 500 dollar deposit and were first come first serve. Are the new season ticket holders going to have a chance to buy these seats or am i s.o.l. on a non-psl seat for next year?
Unless a miracle comes along, you'll be so far down on the seniority list you're basically SOL. SOL on the non-PSLs, that is. You'll have a crack at the PSL seats I would think.
20% Off Bs First of all I called the Jets, the Jets are selling the season for the same price. They are claiming if and when they sell individual tickets you save 20% factoring the fees. WHO WHOO. ALso the new tickets should be 20% less. My front row sideline Mezz ticket on the secondary market is worth 20% more than the corner mezz tickets that are for sale now. Back in June you could buy lower sideine tickets at $105 a ticket between the 40s,s now you can get mezz corners for 20% off or 115!! BTW the preseason is a real joke, it is shocking that lower sideline st. louis tickets in rows 1-5 seats between the 40s can be had for 70 a pair on stubhub. Uppers are like eight bucks.
Jets told me they may lower PSL prices or offer deals as they get near end of season ticket holders. So a 1982 season ticket hold who bought a PSL could end up paying double what a 2009 season ticket holder pays.
Wow. After reading this thread, shit sure seems like it's gonna get ugly before it gets better. I don't see Woody filling the new stadium and I also don't see him sending back checks. If I get a call for the new stadium I'm picking me up 2 Non-PSL uppers and wait til I get a good feeling as to where this organization is going. Someone else brought this up earlier, but it's fucking scary knowing that Woody doesn't guarantee some kind of price-lock on PSL seats. It would be stupid if (to make up for the seats unsold) he raises the price on them, because that in turn will piss off THOSE fans, and they in turn will try to sell those tickets at their PSL rates and...shit. This is a huge mess. I think if he starts charging PSL's on the uppers at no higher than 1G, I might stick around. MIGHT. Anything higher than that and/or a substantial price increase will drive me to stay home and watch on my Plasma.
I remember when people were bashin me about Woody being greedy and not caring. Oh, allow me to retort...... WOODY IS A CHEAP GREEDY FUK!!!!
So let me understand this, people who've already committed to the season tickets not only don't get the 20% discount but they also get screwed on the field pass?
I'm sorry to those of you who paid full price. But it's a free market. You paid what you thought was fair value. Now they will drop the price and reach people whose price points are lower. Nothing unfair here.
I have been on the list for a year and the Jets have called my house 6 times. Each time the deal is better. Obviously I am at the bottom of the list and I don't want them. I wonder how many seats will be sold on game day this year. Kind of like being in Atlanta where you can walk up to the ticket window for any professional sport and buy tickets the same day.
I don't think it is a cut and dry as you make it and it is absolutely unfair. What is going on here is no doubt very shady business practices. I didn't pay what I thought was fair market value, I paid what I needed to to keep my season tickets, which is face value. I was asked to pay $500 a seat months ago in order to reserve my seats for the upcoming season. The Jets pressure you into thinking they have this huge waitlist for season tickets and you have to act fast in order to keep your tickets. There was no need to charge me $500 per seat, something that they have never asked me to do before, unless they knew something like this would happen. When I questioned them on this, they said "Well there's thousands of people on the waitlist that are dying to have season tickets." What the Jets did was create a false demand for tickets to drive up the prices. Now that their plan didn't work they are selling tickets at $25 a pop. Tell me how that's not unfair?
hi ~ new here...what is this ?!?!?!?! who is being offered 20% off tickets...anyone...? and US as loyal long time season ticket holders can not even get rid of the tix we have already paid for since MAY...!!! insane...anyone interested in tix please let me know...have 6 games still to sell...parking passes also. thanks, Jan
i have tickets for sale...gotta recoup the $$$ laid out in May...hubby and I are both out of work...mortgage and food is more important to us these days...anyone interested...?
this is exactly why people are bailing on the jets. they absolutely did create a false demand and that bubble has now busted. however there are too many longtime and good jets fans who got caught when it was still all blown up. its a shame and they are douchebags for doing it that way, however the market has shown itself to be less and they will now sell them for whatever they can get. its a shame and a sham but its the way it works. they arent obligated to do anything for anyone, however its up to you to decide if you want to continue to give them your money.
I just got on the wait list for season tickets a month or so ago and I got the phone call a few days ago saying season tickets for 2009 are for sale. I am trying to decided if I should get season tickets this year. I have never had them and WANT them for the new stadium. BUT....I called Mike the NY Jets sales rep today and he told me today that as far as 2010 goes if I were to purchase season tickets this year I will be guaranteed to get season tickets for 2010 but i will have NO chance of getting any non-PSL seats as they will be gone from all the season ticket holders prior to the new ones (2009 1st time holders). And that odds were I would NOT get the $4000 PSL seats. Mike said that he feels I would have a reasonable chance at the $5000 seats... With that being said I will not be able to afford or (not that anyone wants to) pay more then the $5000 PSL seats as I want 2 of them. So anyone have any advise about what I should do??? Oh and one more loop in it...I live 7 hours away and will only make 4 of the 8 games a year. Thanks Any suggestions?
I'm going to have to check out half season plans but I will probably pass. It seems like the team is giving a lot of people a raw deal and I hate to see them alienate fans like this.
Go with the half season plan then. I am debating it myself, though I am only about two hours away. Never had season tickets, it is very tempting for a last shot at them. Can't justify the 150 bucks a seat next year.
