    From Cimini:

Not sure what Ryan means by this, but of course it's a joke.

Anyway, it is good to hear the coach say that. I wonder if it means Brick is finally coming into his own as a run blocker too. Now that he's made a Pro Bowl, let's hope he and Mangold can become 2 long-term dominant players. This would certainly help Sanchez and possibly start to build our offense into a real machine.

I dunno Tuds, have you not noticed RR praising EVERYONE. Clemens apparently has great command of the huddle..... This quote means pretty much nothing.

The contract would probably be a lot less because the agent percentage would be paid out in beer and pizza.

Sounds like our boy Rexy's using the old Pygmalion effect. He's heaping praise on these guys, making them feel good about themselves in hopes that they'll work extra hard to keep from letting him down. If there was a guy that this would have a big effect on, besides Gholston, it'd be D'Brick, because confidence is the only thing that can hold his incredible talent back.

Neither will Mangold. But we will need them both.

Wasn't he only named an alternate? Or did you mean Mangold?

i would assume the agent joke meant that he would be getting a big contract when his rookie deal is up. not that his rookie deal was small but whatever.

IMO, it's aggression and killer instinct that holds him back. Maybe that is related to confidence. I think that if you could add some nastiness (and maybe 20 lbs) to his talent, you might find yourself with the best LT in the game.

Yeah he was, but before the game he was added to the roster because someone declined. They're calling him a Pro Bowler on the Jets' official site, so that's good enough for me.

based on those profootball ratings posted on this board, Brick had a really good year. So did the entire o-line except Faneca who was awful.

What are you talking about? He didn't make the Pro Bowl..

2009 AFC Pro Bowl Offensive Tackles:

    Starters:
    Joe Thomas, Cleveland
    Jason Peters, Buffalo

    Reserves:
    Michael Roos, Tennessee
Jake Long, Miami (Replacing Jason Peters due to injury)

It's good praise but we all know this OL has alot of work to do.... Hopefully Rex is telling Tanny we better get this guy locked up long term.... cornerstone of the OL although I'd say Mangold is definately the leader....
