The three guys whose rating i have a serious disagreement with, (even with the new rating system) are split, two are over-rated, the other is too low. Rhodes, I love the guy but as far as Madden Ratings are concerned he is living off of his first two years in the league. As a Jets fan I know that he was mis-used last year, but Madden doesnt take mis-use of a player into account. Faneca while still great in the run blocking game, I believe he gave up more sacks than any other on our line. definately not a 97, a solid argument could be made for Mangold being a 97 however. Keller, the guy explodes onto the scene as a rookie as a legit receiving threat, showing signs of dominance and insane potential. Yet he is rated below an 80? I find that to be a huge slap in the face. Keller is going to be at least our #2 option in the passing game this year, and his madden rating should reflect that. my expected stat line for Keller is 74 catches, 982 yards, 7 TD's. Cotch I expect will be 88 catches, 1104 yards, 5 TDs coupled with my guestimate of 2,800 passing yards leaves 714 yards to spread to everyone else. Sounds about right to me. also 2,800 is about 640 less than last year. meaning our ground game will need to be fairly close to 2,400 yards if we want to be a kick ass offensive team. Last year our 4 guys most likely to carry the ball this year (TJ, LW, BS, TR) rushed for 1938 yards. If we ran the ball in the last 4-5 weeks it would have been much higher. Plus add in the fact that not only does Ryan want a smashmouth team, he did draft a bruising back in Shonn Greene
I would love to see Keller near 1000 yards and JCO an 1100 yard guy. Personally I think we will have a more balanced spread this season, maybe not even a single 1000 yard wr. This isn't a bad thing as I am looking for Stuckey to really step it up for us. Time will tell.
No chance it gets changed before the game is released, but there will probably be a roster update online within the first few days.
Holmes is only an 86....wtf?? Well I mean they update the ratings every week, but still............ Only? He's lucky He has that. Other Than that catch he made in the SB, what else has he done to deserve. IMO Holmes is not better than Cotchery ( and not just because I'm a fan) & Cotch is a 81? Where's the justice
well Holmes did have a heck of a playoffs, and he did have that catch, a great SB was huge on that final drive, and he sorta did win MVP..... While I agree with you that holmes is garbage for the most part, he did have one heck of a run in the postseason and as a result his madden rating reflects that. Think Eli Manning, in that for the most part his career will be mostly average, but for that one postseason he was great, and they each did win the SB MVP.....
I clearly see what your saying, but based on Holmes' playoff makes Him better? There's has been so many SBMVP's who after that have gotten Huge contracts & then sucked (remember Larry Brown..from dallas?) I still think Jericho is the better WR than Holmes. Compare their stats from last year, they don't lie
Cotchery's had a better career as far as stats go, but last year, they were very even in terms of production. Holmes: 15 games 55 catches for 821 yards and 5 TDs (14.9 AVG) Cotchery: 16 games 71 catches for 858 yards and 5 TDs (12.1 AVG) I love how some of you guys are saying Holmes was garbage in 2008, except for in the playoffs. He had a pretty good year in 2008 as a #2 receiver. Look at Roethlisberger's stats, they are pretty bad...it doesn't really matter though, they won the Super Bowl. Holmes has something that Cotchery doesn't - speed. Madden loves speed.
I never said(& you can look at my quotes)Holmes had a GARBAGE season. As you can see they had similiar stats in '08. My question was...based on their stats which are very close why is Holmes 86 & Cocthery 81? Speed? Speed does not make you a great WR, Cause you can run a 3.2 40 but if you can't catch then what's the point..nah mean? Cris Carter no speed...Devin Hester fast as a deer. If anything make them both 86 OVR. I just didn't think it was a fair rating. Plus Holmes had more dropped balls - (Not trying to upset anyone...any Steelers fans out there...This is just my opinion means nothing so don't take this to heart)
Do you by any chance have Ty Law's rating? I'm thinking that if it's good, maybe we should sign him.
Completely agree with everything... additionally... 1. Offensively we upgraded (with either QB) at the quarterback position (QB this year will know the offense) 2. At receiver we only lost an old, slow, unathletic, overused, washed up L. Coles last year whose Favre bitching only plagued our team as much as Jones' Favre bitching (You can't score with three runs on the goal line against NE @ home with an upgraded line... you suck, not Favre) 3. Keller WILL, without a doubt, be one of the top tight ends in the NFL this year. It goes to show you that madden ratings mean nothing (John Carlson in the top 10?). Between DK, Cotchery, continued success of Stuckey, and the emergence and potential breakout of David Clowney, we will be fine. 4. Don't worry about the defense week 2. Tom Brady will most likely continue to be the best quarterback in the NFL; that doesn't mean our defense is underrated. 5. Completely irrelevant, but I hope Rex keeps talking trash; we're not planning on losing.
Wtf howd they come up with this load of shit ? Cotchery an 81 ? Keller a 77 ? Thats bullshit he should be in the 80's. An WTF with Harris being a 74 LMAO! Bryan Thomas is a higher rating for gods sake. Everybody shits on the Jets, Well have them boostin those ratings come the mid season update.
I agree with almost everything other than the harris rating. I'm glad they lowered most stats, I was sick of seeing ed reed clones on all teams.

Keller is faster than every receiver except Clowney and Stuckey...and he's only 1 speed point below Stuckey. MISMATCH against linebackers online.
