Hobbes put a positive post in the WTF? thread, so I felt that a series thread was in order. BTW, I was pleased to see that my prediction of series threads drying up happened so quickly. Three wins in a row, and Omar probably a few steps closer to the door. This was actually a good day for the Mets, all things considered.
also, Tracy's decision to pull Rincon when he had to know Tatis would pinch hit was a monumentally stupid decision.
agreed. tatis is opsing .600 vs lefties this year, if you know that kind of bat is lurking on the bench you need to keep him there at all costs.
I sure picked a good day to go to a game tonight. Nice to see some power. Francoure looks like an upgrade from Church.
I'd rather face Sullivan, thanks. .554 OPS last season for Colorado. .481 OPS in limited action this season. Tatis, meanwhile, has proven to be (at times) a legitimate major league hitter, even though he's been struggling this season. .853 OPS last season. Has Sullivan done anything like that, even though he played in Coors Field (supposedly a great hitter's park)? No.
I just think it's a little silly to call taking out a reliever who's loaded the bases and gotten his only out on a sacrifice "monumentally stupid". Sullivan sucks but so does Tatis. So he brings the lefty in to pitch to a lefty or in the worst case a righty who hits better against righties. The guy he brought in fucked up but I don't see how it's on the manager.
please i just want one of those 3 guys back...anyone. it would give them a chance to make up ground, but it seems like their all on the same time table
First rainout ever at Citi Field. Remember where you were when you heard so you can tell your children.
