Just going by the players' abilities, this could be the worst combined post in the thread. *We used a #1 pick on Roger Vick, enough said. *Mike Brim still gives me nightmares of the Chicago 1991 MNF loss. *Vance Joseph is still trying to cover Tim Brown on national TV for Rich Kotite. There is so much wrong with this sentence I don't know where to begin. Having said all that, thanks for the pics again, junc. Just think, you were still in exile when this thread started. #43 hasn't been kind to us.
Those are the helmets they wore during the 75th Anniversary of the NFL, and they wore them during the 25th Anniversary of the Super Bowl Team.
Yeah, they went with throwbacks to celebrate anniversaries of the AFL and NFL for a few games in 1993 and 94 but half-assed it with the helmets. Some teams, like the Chargers, went all out with white helmets but the Jets didn't. They just went with an inverted version of the retro helmets, which they thankfully brought back full scale in 1998. I think players didn't want to change helmets and then back in the middle of the season. Regarding Lott, he was like a defensive version of Favre--not that he was a drama queen but a legendary player who played his last year as a Jet at a diminished level.
