You just can't do it. Both make me sad that they chose what they did since they had great careers, but I just can't see how you can vote them in. It would be a terrible message to young people. Just have a great career and you can use steroids. People will eventually forget. People talk about A-Rod having time to right his wrongs and still make the HOF, I don't think so. I don't think he should be allowed in ever, unfortunately.
Yes to both. Both would have had HOF careers without steroids and it is yet to be determined exactly how much better steroids even makes a player. Obviously Bonds wouldn't have hit 73 pops without juicing but that would have still been an elite season put together by BB.
I suppose, along those lines, you also think that they shouldn't put Japanese internment camps in WWII in history books because it sends the wrong message to young people. The Hall of Fame is a museum of baseball history far more than it is a prize for the players.
Good analogy. Just kidding. People have made such a big deal about roids, you just can't let them in.
Huh? That makes zero sense. Hey, we can't change what other people think about something, so we might as well accept it and go along with everyone else! If it's popular, it must be true! Hope you don't go through your life with that attitude, dude.
They are both Hall of Famers, but both are flagrant douchebags in addition to cheating the game. I wouldn't vote for either based on my hate for them.
They played in the steroid era vs. many many many other users who had just as much as an advantage. They should be in the hall.
 You are trying to say roids should be tolerated and acceptable. That will never happen so its a waste talking about it.
Dwalsh showing some Yankee bias haha. That was the reason I made it public. How can you vote for Clemens and not Bonds?
I would vote 'Yes' but wouldn't like doing it. Although once they come up for the ballot, either way the votes fall, the steroids issue will officially die. If they get voted in, writers & critics turned the other cheek. If they don't get in, then the others proven guilty AND accused don't either.
I'd vote for Bonds, then I'd down a lot of liquor, then I'd vote for Clemens, then probably puke because I really hate Clemens. Nice to see 2K09 still showing the simplistic black/white cognitive process of a child. You can't pick and choose which users get kept out because nobody knows for sure who didn't use. That's the league's fault and the writers' fault, and those two parties would be immensely hypocritical in starting a retroactive witch hunt.
I disagree. It will be heavily contested when they come up for a vote, and it won't put the issue to bed at all. If one or both narrowly doesn't make it in, the same thing will keep coming up. Even if both are elected, there will be significant opposition.
If you cant accept that the majority of players in the era were some sort of steriod user then your an idiot.
