Wow, Junc is making some of the WORST points I've ever seen. They're not even points anymore; they're just excuses -- one after another.
It absolutely has relevance, you were acting like we had a young Vinny on our bench. he lost his job in 2002 and played in about 1/4 of '02 games then barely played at all in '03 preseason thinking he'd be the backup then Chad gets hurt a week before the season and he's a starter again on a team that lost it's best WR and best G in the offseason. To set it straight, it's a fair comparson to compare a team's backup from 1972 to 2003 but not fair to compare that QB in 2003 to his perfromance in 2004? Got it:drunk: It's hard to win w/ backup QBs in this era b/c there isn't a Pat Ryan waiting on the bench in most cases. Let me know when you make your first good point. I am making excuses stating a fatc that the only non-playoff years Hrem had here were years he lost his starting QB to injury while others are making the comparison to 1972. I'm crazy what I can i say?
here comes the cakes copout. Just stick to debating the subject, if I msis something then explain what I missed.
Cakes copout? WTF are you talking about? Learn to read, buddy. Do not warp what I put out there. I presented a black and white issue. You decided to go into a gray area. Once again, I was never commenting on the skill level of any quarterbacks. I was simply stating that some head coaches overcame injuries to their #1 quarterbacks. My point was a very simple black and white one. Don't overanalyze and turn it into something it is not. This is partly why people cannot stomach you. You do not always comprehend what others write.
I didn't grey anything up, you compared apples to oranges by comparing a backup from the 70s to a backup in the '00s when that 70s backup was a former NFL MVP and NFL Champion as a starting QB. Some HCs have overcome injury and Herm did in KC, we had more than just the QB out in '03 and '05 and we couldn't overcome it. People like you can't stomach me b/c I don't fall for nonsense BS that you spew. Someone wlse might take that meaningless point and walk away, I won't. I'll challenge you on it and that's what makes debates w/ me in them much better than ones w/ lesser knowledgable fans. People learn things and if you get into a debate w/ me you better be ready to back up your position and have your argument dissected.
I did not compare any quarterbacks from the 1970s to quarterbacks from the 2000s. How you could so ridiculously misread something is beyond me. It would be nice if you respond to what I write as opposed to what you think I write or what you wish I write. You can have a debate with me if you play fair and respond to what I write. If you want to be an asshole, I'll be an asshole, too.
You didn't compare the backup QB of the 1972 dolphins to what we had in 2003? Act like an adult and refrain from cursing please.
I absolutely did not compare the 1972 Dolphins QBs to any Jets QBs. Please, I beg of you. Learn to comprehend. Go back and look at the old posts if you must. I was simply noting a couple cases where a head coach lost his starting QB to injury and the team still won.
