Sadly, I could see that happening as well. I am a Kellen fan, I hope he gets the job for both his sake and Mark's.
If the Jets put me in the position of having to root for either Vrabel or McGinest on opening day I'm going to be pissed.
Well said ---- lets get away from players that merely want to use our sacred team as a springboard to dive into the pool of vengeance. We tried this experiment last year w/Favre & it was a disaster. We need to find out which of the individuals on our current roster can actually play football.
injuries/inavailabilty of our starters should be seen as a chance to give our backups a shot... I think our backup OLB will be extra motivated in camp knowing that for 4 games they have a real shot at starting... let's see (and hope) if someone shines (I root for Murrell)...
You would think that after years of the Pats mopping up over the hill Jets veterans to fill depth during their Super Bowl years that fit into their system Jets fans would eager to return the favor.
i would have been rooting for this kid either way but i will be right there with you hoping he does a great job.
The Pats would NEVER had let him go if he had ANYTHING left in the tank. Time to stop looking at washed up, over the hill, overpaid has beens and start looking at the young guys we have on the bench. We have four games to find out exactly what type of depth we have at the LB position. Lets see if any of these kids are for real. If not, then we know we have to draft a few early next season. If so, then we're set for the next ten years. It's not like we are going to win the Superbowl this season. We're a team in transition. Two, Three seasons from now, we'll be dangerous but for now, lets find out if the people we have fit the system that is being installed.
