Lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls sang the National Anthem and messed up both the lyrics and the tune. Amazing.
I think they said her name was Caitlin Jones (sp?). I know nothing about her band. I dislike her for disrespecting the National Anthem, though. What a disgrace. You can't learn the tune/lyrics if you're going to be singing in front of thousands of people? Right before July 4th, too. Anyway, this game looks like it's over already. Would've been funny if this minor league team were able to pull within a game of first place, but I doubt it happens this weekend, even against the awful starting pitching the Mets are facing.
I really hate it when these guys think they've got some great stat. Anyone with a pair of eyes knows that this inning has nothing to do with Rollins, and everything to do with Hernandez. This game will probably be over in about a minute, especially since they can't take him out anyway with the way the staff was burned yesterday.
Also, those awful White Castle ads need to stop. I just shut off the game. I would've kept listening, even with the outcome decided, but I can't stand those ads.
No one even noticed that they're the 4 o'clock game? What genius at Fox picked this joke of a game? The Mets of course cannot hit to save their lives, but once again the fielding is a pathetic joke. How the hell can Manuel keep his job when game after game they play like a Little League team?
I notice but there was nothing to post about, Nieve pitched ok but not good enough with the AAA lineup
because he'll be given the excuse of injuries, just like he had the excuse of the bullpen last year to overlook how awful the offense was.
Redding to the bullpen for garbage time duty, and Ollie will be starting against the Dodgers on Wednesday. The over/under on his WHIP for that start has got to be about 2.5.
And more than 40% of that has been on the disabled list for weeks or months, so the number is not very meaningful.
Two mistakes, but otherwise very solid job by Santana. Of course, the AAA lineup makes that probably not good enough.
