I dont get it, all indications were that VG was having a solid offseason, now that Pace is gone for 4, everyone is saying there are reports that he is struggling again? Anyone else see this?
haha you have to have 50 posts to post links and i only have 39. what an asinine rule but whatever. if you go to nyj.scout.com there is an adam shefter report that he sucked during OTAs but who knows how legit it is.
http://nyj.scout.com/2/876661.html?refid=400 its three sentences and since schefter is an ESPN guy - fuck him. At the same time. I need to see this kid made strides before I believe it.
it would be worse if any one could just come on by and start posting up anything they wanted without at least being here for a little bit. its a matter of protection for the site.
Not that I have any expectations from Gholston at all after last season, but Schefter is reaching because Pace got his suspension and now he's using old info from the OTA's to get people reading. We have already heard about this. I doubt Schefter is a shadow of his former story-breaking self without his NFL Network connections.
Gholston should be ready to play 4 games if necessary. He is very athletic and has the tools to become a good linebacker.
We'll see about that. It pays to work for the channel that the league owns, rather than the competition of that channel. ESPN has been the red-headed stepchild of breaking football news ever since NFLN went on the air, having been made to look foolish numerous times in the past couple of years.
It was OTA's in a new defensive scheme. The way Ryan explains it, he wants all his defensive players to learn all aspects of each defensive call. I would imagine that kind of information will sink in during multiple reps of the call. I'm sure Gholston was not the only one who struggled. The good thing is that he was there and hopefully learns from the mistakes and gears up for when it counts. The suspension of Pace has just shifted the attention to the Ghost.
let's see if westerman makes the team. the blurb about him was nice in OTAs, but as a UDFA he's still got a hill to climb.
I wouldnt buy into that. Jets Nation reported he looked very good all offseason and beat writers took note of more than a few sacks he had in 7 on 7's. Odds are he's somewhere in between looking good and struggling. I heard all kinds of reports out of TC last year about how much he was struggling. I was there first hand for alot of those sessions and although he wasnt blowing anyone away...he did some very positive things. So take all this critiquing w/ a grain of salt. The harsh reality is....He's a high ceiling guy who's gonna take his share of lumps but will likely show glimpses of dominance. We'll see in 2 years if he finally blossoms and was worth a top 10 pick.
i dunno if i buy that. i think it's more the person. it's one thing for ESPN to look dumb from time to time, but i think that's more because of the people that break it, rather than the channel. Look for Schefter to continue his strong ways. Anyways, I feel Gladys will demolish Schaub on the first snap of the season.
I agree, Shefter is the best and has single handedly given ESPN the backseat on breaking NFL news. I guess we'll see, but my guess is Shefter has the respect, and the connections.
Connections he probably got because he was working for the leagues television channel. I doubt the league will allow ESPN to ever out scoop their own network
what does that have to do with anything? If Schefter is the best, and has the best connections, why would agents, and teams calling in news/tips/tidbits suddenly care that Schefter is working for ESPN instead of their network? BTW NFLN is stupid for letting schefter go. They have nobody who can come close to replacing him.
