What is sad is if they were actually able to sell them all (which I doubt) they would make 40 Million dollars.
And they won't use any of that to pay for the new stadium either. They'll just continue to rely on the fans and the PSLs
I think the NJSEA owns the Stadium so the Jets and Giants won't be making much off the sale of these seats. The Mets sold pairs for about $800-900, the yanks are selling pairs for $1500-$2,000. I think it's fair for $500 a pair.
# Seats will be pulled from the bowl "as-is", boxed on-site, and shipped 8-10 weeks after the last home game. The seats will undergo little to no cleaning or refurbishing. I will make sure to leave something nice on my seat after the last game
 $500 for a useless set of stadium seats .....for what? because I sat in them in the old stadium ? $500 ???? Yankee stadium was upper deck steep in tradition, Shea - well at least 4 WS were played there......the meadowlands, not so much. Woody, you've lost your fucking mind......I'll give you $50 for 'em for a conversation piece........take it or leave it dude......:rofl2:
Way too much money, Besides, I already have my orange Shea Stadium seats I bought last year. At lease it was in the METS colors and the from the JETS true home. Wow, they are going for more the $900 each now. I only paid $300 for the pair.
Exactly my thoughts. All they really had to do was rip out the seats in one of the red tiers, replace them with green, sell the name to a sponsor and save a few billion bucks. Then I'd be able to still go sit in one of the seats after this season. The beauty is in the simplicity, Dude.
I grew up across the street from Shea and my dad used to take me to JETS games there. Every JETS game I have attended at the Meadowland felt like an away game. I have gone to every west coast JETS game, Oakland, Candlestick, Qualcomm and Qwest Field and Shea is the only place I felt the JETS were truly playing at home. It was heartbreaking when they left for "Giants" Stadium. Now you know.
I hated leaving Shea but we were treated worse at Shea than we are at the meadowlands. There were years we didn't play a home game until October at Shea and I believe we have a better win % at the meadowlands than Shea.
That's because we were a lowly AFL team when they got into the lease at Shea, nothing compared to NL baseball's grand return to NY. By the time we moved to NJ it was 14 or 15 years after the merger. We've also been at the Meadowlands longer than we were ever at Shea and it is a football stadium first. If not for the name and colors it would be perfect.
Shea actually wasn't a bad football stadium w/ the seats they had that moved for football but the meadowalnds is a perfect football stadium. unfortunately they are ruining the seating to accomodate more luxury boxes and moving the real fans farther away from the field.
I knew you were going to say that, lol. Your right the stadium treated them like 2nd class tenants, but the fans loved them. And the best part was the the air traffic from airport constantly flying over. If just felt right, if you know what I mean. Even with the new stadium, I still feel we are still riding the Giants coattails.
I understand exactly what you are saying and I wished we stayed at Shea but we have been better at the meadowlands and at least treated closer to equals. When we are good we have a great homefield edge, I nevre heard a louder outdoor stadium than when we beat GB in 2002.
Where the heck did you get them for $300? I know the Mets were selling them for $800. I wanted a pair.
