Due to "general fatigue". Girardi says he's run down. Rodriguez is 3 for his last 36 (.083 BA). Posada will hit cleanup tonight and Berroa will hit 8th and play third. Jeter will lead off and play short.
didn't he already take a good part of the season so far off? Poor baby. All that money and he's tired. I'll bet he doesn't go home and get rested everynight before games though. What a sham. pussy.
Um, yeah... he did "take a good part of the season off so far." Because he was injured and rehabbing. Probably why his stamina isn't where it usually is. Shocker. And please explain to me the correlation between income and stamina. I'd love to hear it. You must be tired all the time, since you make 1/10000th of what A-Rod makes. The dude can't fucking win. People bitch that he's not hitting well. He's obviously not himself lately, and is still working his way back. So he gets a few days off, and now the line is that he's a pussy. And this simple and obvious observation will undoubtedly end up with me labeled as an apologist for A-Rod. Good times.
I won't label you. You're entitled to your opinion. Mine is that i'm sick of him. like i said,i'll bet he goes out at night after games. I'm sure his performance suffers for it. In turn, the money he makes, the fans get ripped off. I really don't want to hear about his being tired. I work my ass off doing manual labor and i don't make a fraction of what he does to play a game. He hasn't been himself since he's been here. great stats wrapped around a crumbling dynasty.
the plan was that he would play 5 or 6 games a week, and rest a day or two for his hip. Tonight marks the first game he's missed since returning from the DL.
about fuckin time he sat for a couple games. Did it really take Arod coming up to clueless Joe for him to sit him? Girardi reminds me of Alio
i really can't stand a-rod but isn't he playing with his hip really messed up? i'm not a fan so i don't remember what his actually injury is but it sounded pretty nasty. he also had the option of having surgery and missing the season. if he did that he would be collecting money for free. the pussy thing is a bit off and seems to be more from a general dislike of the guy instead of an actual assessment of this situation.
And he bought 100 tickets for his family and friends since he's playing at home...or watching at home.
obviously he is not himself, it's just what was it that made him "himself" that differs now from his life that we all know was part of it when we formed the perception of who he is? poor guy, can't get a break. first the game takes away his precious nectar of ability and now the fans won't give him a break either. so sad. such a tragic figure, we should all feel bad for him.
Good lord, that is an atrocious sentence. Punctuation. It is your friend. I think I get the gist, though. No one said anything about feeling bad for him. Personal emotions have zero to do with judging his performance (on my end, at least... seems like that's not the case for some other people). But he seriously can't please anyone. If he sits, he's a pussy. If he tries to play through it, he's a bum for not being able to help the team. And the only difference between this year and his past Yankee years has been the injury, not the steroid use. This isn't to say he was necessarily clean his entire time as a Yankee. But the testing program was implemented in 2004, and he's tested clean the entire time. So there's no reason why he would stop if he were still using. The only variable that has changed in terms of steroid use is fan knowledge.
It's just better to ignore the fans who complain about ARod. Sometimes I wish ARod would just get injured to see how hapless this team is without his bat in this lineup...oh wait.
Well, I was afraid of this. A-Rod & Kate just can't stay off the party circuit. He seems to be swinging his hips pretty well OFF THE FIELD!!! From today's New York Post: CALL HIM M.I.A.-ROD ROMEO YANK IN 'WALK'-ON CAMEO Last updated: 2:24 am June 21, 2009 Posted: 1:59 am June 21, 2009 Kate Hudson may be wearing A-Rod out. The slumping Yankee slugger missed most of last night's game against the Florida Marlins after riding the bench the night before as well with a case of "fatigue." The rest hasn't seemed to do much good: In his pinch-hit cameo last night, he merely drew a walk. And that R&R is expensive; Rodriguez pockets $203,704.40 a game -- even when he's riding the pine. It's not surprising that A-Rod is feeling a bit sluggish -- the wilting all-star was caught partying in South Beach with Hudson, his main squeeze, in the wee hours yesterday morning. The third baseman was seen leaving an exclusive party with the actress at around 2:30 a.m. It remained to be seen whether the benched ballplayer would muster another sudden burst of energy for a late-night rendezvous with Hudson after last night's game, which the Yanks dropped 2-1. While A-Rod continues to round the bases off the field, he hasn't been performing very well on it. The three-time AL MVP is hitting more like a utility infielder at .212. He's currently mired in an 0-15 slump. Rodriguez is expected to play in the final game of the three-game set against the Marlins today. That should please his mom and other relatives and friends -- A-Rod reserved about 100 tickets for them for Friday's game, only to break the news he was taking a breather.
Jesus, dude... give it up. He's not exactly unique in this. You think Jeter is home in bed at 11pm every night? Please.
Maybe he needs rest because he came off surgery for a hip injury and hasn't had a day off since he came back to the majors? I don't think he's even DH'd since he came back, he's been playing third the whole time.
No,but i don't want to hear about people being tired on the job,if they're most likely not doing the things they should be doing to make themselves not tired. Go to work monday after not sleeping, drink all night and let us all know how your boss feels about it.
The humanity! Are we really going to Page Six for our baseball analysis? Not that it'd be any worse than the rest of the Post, but still.
A few things: 1. I didn't read that he was drunk or "drank all night." It was only said that he was out til 2:30am. 2. Baseball players have different work days. He was out til 2:30am after a night game, the day prior to sitting out another night game. They don't get out until 11pm. They don't show up until 1pm the next day (and that's if they're hard-working players). To put it in perspective, that's like a person at a "normal" job staying out til 8:30pm. 3. There's a difference between the kind of fatigue you suffer because you went out drinking, and the kind of fatigue you feel because you're trying to come back from surgery. A-Rod's problem is/was the latter, not the former. It's not the kind of fatigue that is fixed by a good night's sleep. It's fixed by not overworking.
God New York fans are fucking retards. Everytime you open your mouthes and complain about ARod let's try to remember that bastion of self control and discipline, Babe Ruth.
