I gotta say this stadium looks so much bigger than the other one at least from some of the comparative shots

He's never admitted when he was wrong before, why would you think he would start now?

Yes, the Upper Deck of the new stadium looks like it's above the Upper Deck of Giants Stadium. I took a good look when I was at the Meadowlands for some concerts recently. The new stadium is a monster (or should the word be "monstrosity"?).

It was originally reported by 17a and others who took the tour that the 1st Row of the Upper Deck in the new stadium is equivalent to the last Row of the Upper Deck in Giants Stadium, and I believe it. Giants Stadium fits inside the bowl.

That means my seats are 16 rows past the Upper nose-bleeds as we know them today. I'm afraid none of us in the Uppers have a seat that's very close to the action. High-powered binocular sales in the NY area will skyrocket. Leon Washington is going to look like an ant.

I just wonder though, how many fans who landed the coveted "PSL-Free" seats in the upper deck are going to be truly happy with their seats. Is it really worth going to the games (outside of the atmosphere, tailgating) if, when it comes time to watch the games you actually need the assistance of binoculars to make out #'s on players' backs?

At that point I'd probably throw in the towel and upgrade the home theater, giving myself the best seat in the house.

Oh absolutely, Koz. You've mentioned this before and I totally agree: Is it really worth it? I'm sure I'm not alone with that kind of thinking either. I think a lot of guys are doing this on a one-year trial basis and see how they like it.

For me, I wanted to take the shot and at least see. I've got grandkids now and I want to take them to some games and let them experience the tailgating and all the hoopla. For them it'll be more about the face paint and the parking lot stuff and hopefully they'll get into the games. The tickets are in my son's name now, so he'll be the one to decide if he still wants to go eventually.

If it's too much of a hassle with the parking and the views, etc., he can always bail out, which is more than can be said for the PSLers. When you commit to that kind of money, you better know you're going to be wanting to go for a very long time.

Here's to hoping that each and every one of you is truly happy with the seats. I know that you guys have invested alot of time and gone through alot of grief in the process. Nothing wrong with trying it for a year, PSL-free and bailing if the seats aren't to your liking. At least you can say that you tried.

I'm probably not even going to have the choice, but most likely that's what I'm doing. Right about now I'll be happy to still be living in my house to watch the games in HD by next season, forking over big bucks to the Jets to watch the games from the angle of a traffic copter is not on my list of things to do. I'm excited the Jets will finally have their own home and I'm happy for real fans like Section 227 (not champ the landlord) who will be able to be there for it. With some luck I'll get to a couple of games.

I was told by my ticket rep that the 4th or 5th Row of the Upper Deck in the new stadium is equivalent to the last Row of the Upper Deck in the old stadium.

I am definitely taking my 2010 seats on a one-year trial basis after 30 years of season tickets. I had 1980 seniority and I studied the view (on the 3D seating view tab on the Jets web site) from various sections - UD sidelines at midfield, UD sidelines towards the end zone from a lower row, UD corner, UD end zone, and Mezz corners and end zone.

I came to the conclusion that 1) I wanted to see the whole field ; 2) I did not like the view from the end zone at all and 3) I am not paying all this money to see half the game live and the other half on the jumbotron when the ball is at the other end.

That is just my preference. Others obviously feel differently about the end zone view. In any event, I am unwilling to pay the obscene amount of money the Jets are asking for lower level sideline seats. I have kids to put through college. I also did not want to lock myself in to PSL end zone seats only to find out later that I didn't like the end zone view.

So I went with UD sideline seats in section 340 row 19 with my seats being close to section 339. I am therefore on the 40 yard line. I chose these over being a few rows lower, but further away from midfield (for instance, each section covers about 20 yards- so section 342 is essentially even with the goal line).

I am concernced with how high the UD is and we still don't know what parking and tailgating will be like for us UD people. After discussing things with my family - who share my four seats, we decided to give it a shot in 2010 and see if we like the new stadium or not. If we don't, it's the end of an era, but I don't have a $16,000 -$40,000 investment to get rid off. I just don't renew and buy a big TV instead. I think this is pretty typical of the long-term STH who are moving involuntarily to inferior seats in the new stadium as compared to what I have now (5th row uppers on the 25 yard line).

The concerns I have is the view from those seats given the height

my brother in law has been saying this all along. sure the seats are psl free but with that comes something negative and it looks like the height. i wont spend that kind of money for season tickets and have to view the game with binoculars no way dudes.

hes still awaiting his call and if we cant get seats low enough and in a decent section its over!
