If Arod could start hitting even a the college level at this point, we would score 8 runs a game.

Elijah Dukes has no business playing centerfield. He can't play the position. The Nationals have a bunch of corner OFs/DH types. That's a killer when your CF has very little range.

how did the stadium help out at all in that inning?

    Damon: single
    Teixeira: double
    Rodriguez: strike out
Cano: double, thrown out going for 3
    Posada: groundout

The wind. The wind that helped it carry over Duke's head. It's the same evil wind that has given the Yankees hitters 'ridiculous' number of HR's all year long.

Good defense from the Yankees tonight and bad defense from the Nationals.

    Cano displaying range.

Knowing our offense sucked today, does Wang stand a chance tomorrow?

i'm really hoping the yankees win like 12-10 tomorrow night (aka Wang sucks so Hughes goes back into the rotation haha)

Call me a bad fan or whatever you want, but as you all know by now I'm a huge supporter/fan of Hughes

nice piece of hitting by Pena, now 4 of 6 at getting the runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs. That's impressive

that ends the game. The Nationals are not getting two off Rivera.

    McDougal just has no control.

Also, I thought the Yankees could've tried a few things with Pena up. Send the runner from first. Gardner's a good baserunner, and he won't get himself picked off of third. Free second base, because I don't see how Gardner doesn't score if they throw to second.

    I wouldn't guarantee that.

But if he can't hold the Nationals to less than four runs, he should be replaced in the rotation by Hughes.

I worry more about our offense and not giving Wang breathing room. We looked like garbage tonight. The heart of our order didn't muster much until Martis was relieved. The same Martis threw 50+ balls as part of his total pitch count. We should've gotten more than 2 runs off of him tonight and put this game away early.
