Well, I'm glad you were able to get seats, and I agree the whole situation sucks. Also, thanks for sharing the details. One small note - I wouldn't spill any beer in the new stadium. I was at Yankee stadium again yesterday, and beers are either $10 for swill or $11 for decent stuff. At those prices, savor every drop!!
I am 1981 I got 6 seats, Sec 319, Row 10 & 11, seats 9-11 both aisle seats, exactly the same seats but I am on the Jet side/sunny side and you are on the visitor/shady side. It looks like there might be even less seats in your row. What are you seat #'s. I think our seats are great, 10th row, aisle, right by the corridor
I am 1977 and I got my seats May 12. It is actually my 44th season, but since the Jets don't have any records before 1977 everyone before 1977 were clumped in the 1977 group. After reading all the horror stories I feel lucky now to have Upper Prime in Sec 334. I feel bad the a lot of loyal fans will be shut out by the PSL's and crazy prices for club seats. I am now in 228 but there is no way was I going to pay $400/game for a tix. It is insanity to think that anyone will spend that for tix. My sales agent who probably sells vacuum cleaners or condos normally made sure to let me know that "YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS IN THE UPPER DECK. THE JETS COULD TAKE BACK THE SEATS AT ANYTIME". Are you kidding! Does Woody know that his sales agents are throwing out veiled threats to loyal fans. I don't know if anyone else had this experience. I am sure a lot of fans will stay home buy a plasma ,a new grill and have fun without all this aggravation that the Jets are sending our way. The fun factor vs aggravation factor was always in favor of being a STH, but the pendulum is moving in the other direction. I will continue to go but I don't know at what point I too will give up the tix. I hope everyone who gets a PSL knows that when they decide to build another stadium 30 yrs from now they have no rights in the next new stadium. Well good luck to all of you loyal fans like me who tailgate stay till the end of the game no matter the score and who were in the stands in the 1-15 season to watch our Jets give the game to the Fish. I hope the new stadium is worth the effort. Jetmike Sec 228/334
Oh By the way do you think we will get new hats with our section # when we move? If you are losing your memory or are too drunk the hats are useful so someone can get you back to your seat.
You gonna love sitting in the upper deck. Its gonna be like the Blues were for the Rangers back in the 70's and 80's. Its all the fans from the 60's-80', its gonna be great, lets hope the lower levels are half empty and make Woody look like an ass like the Mets and Yanks.
Many, many thanks to the guys above (you know who you are) who have unselfishly given of their time and experience to help others like me. I've read every post and will probably reread while waiting for my Rep to call. Your input will be valuable to me today and I will be sure to post what my experience is after I have selected. Let the chips fall where they may... I'm going to shoot for the 334-335 area as close as I can get toward the 50 but still not too high up. Even though this SW area will still get sun, I don't want it in my face, so I think by going with this area as it will accomplish that and still dump me out a little closer to the SW parking side, where I think they are going to have to have adequate non-PSL parking and access to Rte 3 West. As far as parking, yes, good points all. I've always said you are better on foot than you are in the car when trying to leave... been parking in Lot 16 and using Gate C for 24 years, for example. By parking closer to the access (Rte 3) and walking, you are able to quickly exit while others are sitting in their cars at an idle. If the non-PSL parking is further out than the PSL parking, this might ironically be a better parking spot anyway (but most PSL people or those who haven't done this for a quarter century will not realize this). The further you go on foot toward the outermost areas is the quickest way out. And this problem will be exacerbated with the new parking scheme because they are building parking lots now with such a constrictive configuration that it "traps" cars into stop-and-go lanes, all in the name of "safety." Sections 334-335 sort of replicate my currently positioned seats in 227, only a deck higher (well... more like two decks!). Thanks again and I don't think I have any other questions. Talked to my Rep yesterday and he'll be calling me today, hopefully this morning.
Please keep us posted as to your experience...I, as I'm sure others as well, are interested to hear about your choices/experience. Good luck today. Hope you get what you're shooting for.
I am so glad that you made the cut and will be allowed to stay on without giving Woody the PSL$. Another real Jet fan coming to the UD, love it.
Thanks guys. I'm nervous as hell sitting next to the phone with my Jets T-shirt on (I kid you not). Figure maybe it'll bring me good luck.
I told my rep that I had hoped the Jets took a lesson from the Yankees and Mets with empty seats downstairs. He tells me that the Yankees' tickets are way overpriced. Oh yeah? Well, what do you call Jets tickets then? If the Yankees can't sell high-priced tickets, what will the Jets do? I guess the Jets figure that once the Upper Deck is filled, you'll have no choice but to accept the PSL's. I'll bet they also figure that waiting list folks will jump at the chance to own tickets via PSL. Remember, this is YOUR stadium. He, he, he...
I fully expect that within 5 years the Jets will make the Upper Deck PSL seats and tell you to buy the PSL or stay home. I, for one, will stay home. You have to love the fact that you pay thousands of dollars every year to an organization that does not even value you as a customer.
Kinda like waiting for that hot chick to call back...except the date will cost you your life savings!
Jetsetter, The above "line" you describe gives me a very good picture of what I'll be dealing with today (still haven't called yet). Since you selected just yesterday, it gives me hope that I can still get something close to what we're looking for. My kids and my wife want closer to the 50, of course, but I want a lower row, so it'll be a give and take. I also find it useful to know that the middle of the row gives you a better chance. I've been sitting toward the end of the row near the aisle for many years, and I find that it's more of a PITA to have to stand up every 5 seconds to let people out than it is to get out yourself... just a personal preference I have. In other words, I'll take the midle of the row. I don't drink like a fish like I used to, so I don't need to get up 40 times during the game to go get more beer or take a leak. We do all that before the game, so maybe I can get a slightly better seat by taking middle of the row... we'll see. Come On, Jets! Call me, man. I'm dyin' here.
I disagree with both statements. They are gonna increase the $ of the game ticket but they value us, come on, people are piling. WE DON"T HAVE PSL'S IN THE UPPER DECK.!!!! THAT"S NOT A MIRAGE, THAT WAS WOODY
227 you remind me of "Uncle Frank" from "One Crazy Summer" with John Cuzak. You'll remember the character, he's shown sitting in a cramped room, noxious cigarette smoke filling the room, wearing his jammies and robe, looking like he hadn't showered in months, all the while waiting for the perfect time to get on the phone. I know that you don't resemble the guy, but I just can't get the image out of my head.
You've got the picture, only I don't smoke and I showered at 7AM so I could sit by my home office phone next to my computer and wait. I've been sitting here for 4 hours. The robe and jammies have been replaced with shorts and a Jets T-shirt. My biggest concern now is that I'll run out of patience when he calls and sound like Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry: "COME ON, PUNK! MAKE MY DAY!"
did you call your rep yet today and ask if you missed his call? try it. just call him and he may just give you your options right then since you are on the phone already.
