Who knows, we could both suck and the Bills and Pats could be playing for the division. It all comes to down NE, are they gonna get back to being the Pats or are they getting a little old on the OL which could bring them back to the pack. Has Brady ever faced constant pressure and been hit time and time again. The guy is never on his back. As far as the fish, we all know Chad usually does not stay healthy for 2 years in a row and everything went perfect for him last year, plus now its expected and the level of competition has risen. The Bill are the wild card. I was really impresses by the QB 2 years ago and if he takes off with their weapons in the air and the ground and get some defense, they are going to be a handful. Now with our team, I have no idea, excited about the new defense and attitude but our lack of depth on the OL and DL scares me.
Give Dolphin fans credit for knowing how to turn on a computer. Seriously though, the Dolphin fans are pumped up over last season. They see a rookie HC who gets brought in by the great Bill Parcells and the team goes out and has a very good season while playing a weak schedule and they think they are on the verge of being a powerhouse team and doing great things. I cant blame them. I thought the same thing after 2006. But we have all seen Chad Pennington play. We know his stregnths and his weaknesses. The guy isnt a bad QB but he is limited back there. They talk up Chad Henne like he is a lock to be great but are already calling Sanchez a bust. Wheres the logic in that? If Chad Pennington struggles or gets hurt again next year there team could very easily be in for a long season. Did anybody watch the Dolphins play last year and get blown away by how good they were? I didnt.
I bet they're going to see Henne play this year, not because their record but well all know Pennington cant stay healthy.
It's easy for the fans of any team to get carried away with optimism in June, but that's more because of excitement for the impending season than reality talking. Hell, Lions fans probably think they're going to the Super Bowl for all I know. Pennington will carry a chip on his shoulder until he retires because he feels he's got something to prove. Can't say I blame him for feeling cheated out of unfulfilled destiny. I know I did when he was here with us, but I was damn glad it all fell apart in the PO's for him last year, of course. Ugh, that would have been horrible if it hadn't. Miami!
Still my favorite team to hate, hope they enjoy there 1st place schedule and noodle arm QB...:finssuck:
If Chad Pennington has a good year in 2009 it will be the first time in his career that he has put together two good seasons back to back. I will not be suprised to see him struggle this year. But I have no doubt that the dolphins fans are exicted. They went from being completely discounted at the beginning of last season to winning the AFC east. I really don't think they are that good myself. The playoff game against Baltimore exposed the Dolphins for what they really are. I'm expecting the Jets to take two from them this year, whether it's Clemmens or Sanchez.
I don?t count the Bills game Miracle, so the Jets finished 8-8 in my mind. With the talent level and a defense that is going to get after the quarter back instead of reacting to what he does, you can add at the minimum one game better then last year. Take one game away due to the inexperience at quarter back. Now factor in a new cornerback and Bart Scott and leaond/washington, then you can easily say they add a game here or there. Worst case we go 8-8 in a getting to know you season, at the very best 10-6 - 11-5 with a break or two or defensive save. I?m not expecting too much, but would love to see the rookie QB develops. We will beat the dolphins!
Here's the lack of knowledge so prevelant to this board. The Dolphins ran the wildcat maybe 6 times a game in 08 and only for 13 games about 78 plays total all year, we avg anywhere from 45 to 55 offensive plays per game basically we ran anywhere from 429 to 715 offensive plays less the 78 wildcat plays last year. How on gods green earth were we only winning games because of the wildcat and a soft schedule? I guess having a new HC, GM, OC, DC, QB offensive and defensive schemes and a rookie LT, and coming off a 1-15 season are all meanigless because we had a soft schedule and we ran the wildcat 6 times a game, awesome frikin logic Jet fans, way to make excuses for Miami's success.
ummm what? where did i "make up" my own facts? *slaps head* oh right....you're the guy that makes shit up....silly me. carry on.
Well, only if YOU say so.... How can winning the division ever be considered a bad thing?? Talk about a delusional football fan?? As for the talent in Miami not being able to match up to the 2009 expectations, what makes you the local expert on talent all of a sudden??... Yes, I'll be surprised if Miami loses 10 or more games in 2009.... That's not a big surprise considering you're such an expert at spotting true football talent.... In order to make that kind of statement, you must know quite a bit about delusion yourself huh?? Dare I say we have a delusion expert on our hands???...LOL. What a tool....
Fin fans are the worst fans of any team in any sport, ever. Belichik's success may have gotten a lot of people in NE who never followed football before to root for the Pats, but those people are just bandwagoning homers. Fin fans are and probably always will be arrogant and obnoxious D bags.
The Phins were better than us last year and they have Parcells. The last time the Jets won more than 10 games we had Parcells. Why wouldn't the Phins fans be optimistic? We may well be better than last year but with a rookie QB or Clemens we are likely to lose a lot of close games. I suspect we are a 5 to 8 win team next year unless Clemens or Sanchez have a great year. The Pats are the favorites but if Brady shows any signs of not being 100% I could see the Fins winning the division. We are in a rebuilding year.
Riiiiight, last years success for Miami was just a fluke and anyone who doesn't agree simply doesn't watch the game. Anything positive I have to say about the Dolphins you step right up and tell me how wrong I am. But you don't say anything made up, no everything you say is just loaded with cold hard facts.
I think If Ryan can be in NY what he was in Balt, it will make Sanchez's transition much smoother. Sanchez won't have to play perfect football to be a solid addition for the Jets. However if Ryan doesn't get the Jets D to play as well as Jet fans hope, than I think there is little chance Sanchez or Clemens has much of a year.
