I don't care how inaccurate his passes are...the guy is a ridiculous runner and has a good enough arm to do damage against our defense if he's not contained while playing in the Wildcat. If our defense plays it perfectly though, White will force a lot of throws.
It's not his fault, his receivers are used to running half speed cause theyre used to Chad's underthrows.
Henne didn't do dick in College with loads of talent. The guy is severely overrated. I'll take my chances with an injured Pennington or White.
i actually have that same feeling. i feel as if this fad will die out like the run and shoot offense.
For most teams, yes, but the Phins really commit to the System and built on it, and the Problem is, that most DCs never (or a very long time ago) really had to gameplan against it. If you face a Power-I, Wescost, or whatever offense, you basically know, what to do against the system, and you can focus on how to stop certain players or plays. But against the Wildcats, it?s building a gameplan from the ground up. And Pat White is the perfect player for that system, so I won?t laugh about stuff like this, caus I?m really concerned, that this guy might be a very valuable player for a Divison rival, and really do some damage.
I agree, but there's now a season of game planning to build on. We also have Ryan as our HC who will be calling the defense on Sundays. The Ravens D shut down the wildcat. Granted we have different players, hopefully he has the scheme.
Once someone stops it, defensive coordinators will copy that gameplan and the Wildcat will become less and less effective. Copycats > Wildcat
The wildcat was a way to take the ball out of that retard Chad’s hands when they got down to the 20 and it worked excellent last year. They’re going to have to figure something new out this year or chance that mongoloid trying to make plays in the red zone which would be great for the opposition… traditionally end up being a field goal or an interception. Plus – it’s not hard to beat a retard like the ultimate adjuster Mandoofis with shit like that; as soon as he saw the formation he opened up his tried adn true belly play-book that he smuggled out of Foxborough in 04 and went to page…oh shit…something new…wut-wooh shaggy…mandoofis don’t know what to do now…
Yeah the papers down here have mentioned that Pat White has had lots of problems with accuracy so far. He's <b never /b> been in a traditional offense in college. Mainly his problem is he has tremendous arm strength and he overthrows his target. The one thing I as a miami fan can't wait to see is how well he works with speedster Ted Ginn. White to Ginn might end up a devastating combination in the future. Chad Henne on the other hand has been getting good reviews. I'm concerned that he wasn't a superstar in college but he seems to have good arm strength and decent accuracy. I think a year under Pennington and learning the system will make Henne into a solid QB if not a superstar. This is the best Dolphins QB situation in years. The Jets-Phins games will hopefully be interesting this year.
I think White has twice the talent Vick had. He's a winner winning all 4 bowl games he played and he's a much better passer. At the combine he had the best showing of all the QB's when it came to throwing the ball. He's a true dual threat, Vick could run, but he couldn't pass. Here are his college statistics, they supprt the fact that he's an accurate passer: WVU Passing Rushing Season Games Comp-Att Yds YPA YPC Comp % TD INT Long Rush Yds Avg Lg TD 2005- 12 65-114 828 7.26 12.74 57.0 % 8 5 50 131 952 7.3 76 7 2006 12 118-179 1,655 9.25 14.03 65.9 % 13 7 67 165 1,219 7.4 69 18 2007 13 144-216 1,724 7.98 11.97 66.7% 14 4 79 197 1,335 6.8 64 14 2008 12 180-274 1,842 6.72 10.23 65.7 % 21 7 52 191 974 5.1 66 8 Total 49 507-783 6,049 8.31 11.93 64.8 % 56 23 79 684 4,480 6.5 76 47 His Bowl game stats Jan. 2006 11-1 Sugar Bowl WIN Georgia 11-14 120 8.6 78.6 % 1 0 30 24 77 3.2 13 0 Jan. 2007 11-2 Gator Bowl WIN Georgia Tech 9-15 131 8.7 60.0 % 2 0 58 22 145 6.6 27 1 Jan. 2008 11-2 Fiesta Bowl WIN Oklahoma 10-19 176 9.3 52.6 % 2 0 79 20 150 7.5 42 0 Dec. 2008 9-4 Meineke Bowl WIN N. The Ravens have already liad the ground work for that with thier playoff game against the phins. Now if only we could pick the mind of the guy who set up taht defense for our team this season.....
