I'm expecting anywhere from 7-9 to 10-6 , more likely closer to the lower side of that. We have improved, but our division is tougher this year, our schedule is no cakewalk, and we have no idea what our offense is going to look like. I think our defense is going to be very solid, our only real question marks on defense are Gholston/Thomas provided we stay healthy.
I didn't say the Jets would take a step back to 6-10, I said IF they have an off year it's likely to be a 7-9 or maybe 6-10 at the worst. I expect them to win 7 to 9 games with an outside shot at 10 wins or losses and maybe a slim chance of 11 wins if a lot clicks. The Jets are too solid in the trenches at the moment to have a really bad year unless somebody or a couple of somebody's get hurt in there.
pretty much hit it on the head right there... the winner of the div, be it phins, pats or jets will be around 9-7, 10-6
I would love to see a statistical comparison to LY vs TY .. I was under the impression that the season hasn't even started .. just sayn
I think I heard this on JetsNation, so it's a homer statement, but the guy on there (mayhaps Adam Schein?) mentioned that an assistant coach from another team thinks the Jets OL could wind up being one of the best in league this year, mainly because of Callahan, cohesion and chemistry, along with Ferguson and Mangold approaching veteran status.
hmmm....I just came from the "Eric Smith" thread; I'm one thread removed by a Jet fan saying that Rhodes is NOT Ed Reed. Well, here's another long-time Jet fan whose of the opinion that Kerry Rhodes is living off his rookie rep, that he is (inho) softer than you'd like to see in a safety and he's NOT Ed Reed. Further, those on this board who mistakenly think that Rhodes > Reed are few and far in between. Your sweeping generalizations are really more about you cherry-pickin' in your approach. No big deal; you're obviously a Jet-bashing crank with an ax to grind--fine. But to try and seriously suggest that the consensus here places Rhodes on a par let alone better than Ed Reed is just cow chips and you--WE--both know it. Cut the b.s. already.
And I know this because at one point I had Bryan Thomas, Calvin Pace and Kerry Rhodes on one of my fantasy teams and they were all producing pretty well, but tailed off as the year progressed.
Dolphin fans will predict the Jets go 3-13 regardless of who is on our roster and who is coaching the team. It's like a reflex.
They suprised some people with the wildcat last year, thats how they had any success at all. they needed a trick. As much as I like Chad,i think he's gonna get toasted back there this year.
That's why I used the word "going" and not "is" and it is a prediction. Why bother with forums like this if you can't state an opinion about what you think is "going" to happen?? By the way, who do you think will win the Jet-Patriot games this year. Don't bother making a prediction, because according to your rule, we haven't seen any scores for 2009 games yet. Just saying.
Well said  I think most people would be extremely surprised if our defense didn't improve upon last years numbers, Jets fan or not. Bart Scott > Barton , Leonard > Eric Smith (who is definitely not comparable to Ed reed LOL)/Abe Elam, Sheppard > Lowery, Douglas > Coleman, Rex/Pettine > Mangini/Sutton. The new schemes being incorporated should be a bonus, noting the Raven's consistent success. Not trying to be a homer here, but its hard to argue with those assumptions. Our offense, we lost Coles and gained no replacement (not that Coles was really a true number 1, but our corps is weaker without him), we have no idea what quarterback play will be like... we don't know if we will have a solid blocking tight end, and we don't know if we'll be able to run the ball with everyone loading up the box against an offense that will likely be touting a rookie QB. Our line is likely to help us provide at least decent numbers in the running game... but we have no clue how successful we will actually be. Think it will be about a .500 season for us, wiggle room in either direction... Would be surprised to win the division over the Pats. If Brady isn't the same for some reason after returning from injury and turns into a turnover machine/sack target (don't worry, i'm not getting my hopes up) then AFCE is up for grabs.
I bet other fans were saying the same stuff about the Jets last year "Jets fans are delusional for thinking Favre can still play"- they were right and the large number of people that bought into that idiotic Super Bowl (Subway Super Bowl LOL) proved them right.
wow, you took the words right out of my mouth. he takes 1 or 2 comments in the vast minority and suggests that's how all jets fans think. like i said before, TROLL.
Dolphins will be the biggest disappointment in the league next year. The worst thing that could have happened to that team was win the division last year, the talent of the team does not match up to the expectations they now have. Would it really surprise anyone if the Dolphins finish with 6 wins or less? It wouldn't surprise me. I love it though, there is not a more delusional fanbase in all the sports then the Phins fans.
