Somehow, i missed most of this, I just watched some Vids, could someone fill me in, how did this start?
It's all just some playful back and forth through the media. People are making too much out of it. "Oooooh, Crowder's gonna have a target on his back the first Jets-Fins game!" No he's not. Ryan will walk up to Crowder before the game, they'll shake hands, share a laugh, and then the Jets will win. I tell you what, though. I'm sure there are a couple NFL players in contract years watching Ryan's videos thinking "I bet it would be really fun to play for that guy..." Hell, probably even Crowder feels that way.
Thread started with the whole Ryan Vs. Crowder thing that has been in the media for the last week. Thread got derailed to the topic of Chad Pennington ala FTP (who is a ridiculous homer who doesn't realize that Chad is not, and never will be a championship QB). FTP proved that he's about just as bad of a homer as Raiderjoe and TBJF... and we've been making fun of him for the last 10 or so pages...
Yeah, I realize that, but do you see me singling out one of them and acting as if only one of them was the reason Miami didn't succeed? With Jet fans it's only Pennington....no one else, ignorant logic. Oh sure Brett failed, but that was Manginis fault, whatever.
If you'd listen to what people are saying you'd never say something like this. Obviously you don't listen. You're just too stubborn to listen. Keep spewing the ignorance though, it speaks volumes for Lfins fans everywhere.
Pennington was loved here, but most Jetsfans just came to the conclusion, that he will never win a Championship. Let me show you, what i mean: http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d80de0ee1/Ravens-Dolphins-highlights
It is what Jet fans are saying. Everything that was wrong with the Jets was Chad Pennington. You people never blame any other apsect of your team. It's never the coaching, the RB's the WR's, the Oline. It's never the defense. It's all Chad, in the playoffs...Chad! Now he's a Dolphin, if the Dolphins don't succeed, it will be because of Chad. There is no team concept in Jet fans minds, it doesn't exist. So stop telling me "it's not what people are saying", it's exactly what Jet fans are saying. Miami wins 11 games and the division and makes the playoffs. We have all this good stuff happen to the team after a miserable 1-15 season. A large part of that success was due to Chad Pennington. But Jet fans are telling Miami fans we won't have success with Chad because the Jets didn't have success....TOO LATE! You need to grow up pal, stop being a whiny little child because everyone who doesn't root for the Jets or they disagrees with your opinion of Chad. You're pissy cause Dolphin fans aren't here whining like Jet fans about not winning the SB last year and it was allllll Chads fault. Dolphins fans are smart enough to realize Miami was coming off a 1-15 season and no matter who the QB was the odds of advancing deep into the playoffs last year wasn't likely. But we go from 1-15 to 11-5 and all we're supposed to do is dwell on not winning the SB or advancing to the second round of the playoffs cause Chad was our QB? If that's what you expect, that's a pathetic way to view a successful season.
That's fine, far be it for me to change their opinions, but Chad isn't a Jet now. He's a Dolphin and we are a different team. Just because Chad didn't win in NY is not a reason to believe he won't win in Miami. I'm not saying Chad will win a Championship in Miami. I'm saying we have no reason to believe he won't. However that's not good enough for Jet fans. Jet fans want Dolphin fans to be all bummed out because we now have a QB that "didn't" win the big games in NY. That would be like us Dolphin fans watching Dan Marino go to NY and us telling Jet fans not to expect to win a Champuionship because Dan didn't win one with us...pretty damn ignorant logic wouldn't you agree?
Comparing Marino to Pennington. And now I've seen everything. Pennington just isn't a championship caliber QB. Marino was a championship caliber QB. He had all the tools unlike Chad who has to rely on a lot of dump offs an screens because of his fragile and weak arm. A QB like Chad just doesn't make it though and win 4 playoff games in the NFL in a row. If the Dolphins had Larry Fitzgerald and Randy Moss, then maybe Chad could pull that off. But with what the Dolphins currently have I can't see him winning a championship.
I'm not whining. You call me a whiny child because I point out your ridiculousness. There's no point in me breaking it down and explaining it further because you won't listen. You continue to make shit up and won't read what people say. Saying that we didn't blame Favre for anything is just one small blip on your radar of bullshit. I can't take a single thing you post seriously. I don't think anyone does.
Chad is Chad. He's a quarterback who takes what the defense gives him and doesn't make too many mistakes. But his arm is too weak, and he's never been a top quarterback since his rookie year. He isn't a championship quarterback. Good defenses won't give him any lanes to throw in, and he'll get killed, like Baltimore did to him. Ask any Jets fan if they were surprised by that. We weren't. And we're not dumb enough to think quarterback is the only position on the field. But we've seen a long line of mediocre quarterbacks enough to identify Chad as one of them. I love Chad, but expecting him to lead you past the 2nd round of the playoffs is likely too tall an order at this point, unless he has a strong supporting cast. Favre wasn't the only reason for our collapse last year, but he never gave our offense a chance to win. Our defense fell apart, too, but Favre sucked.
This dude is completely inept at reading comprehension. Can we close the thread already so he'll have nowhere to post?
It's always the same with you isn't it? Everyones wrong that isn't a Jet fan or doesn't agree with the BS opinion about Chad or Brett being the only reasons for failure for the Jets. I'll be glad to listen to whatever you have to say as long s it isn't bias ignorant BS. So far, you've spewed nothing but, ignorant bias BS. I don't give a damn how you view the Jets. I don't give a damn how you see the Jets season ending and why. Anyone who thinks the QB is the only position on the team that matters is in no way shape or form in position of knowledge of this sport. You will not find one HC, GM or coach that will agree with the thought that the QB either wins all games or loses all games...at any level! I've played this sport and watched it for the majority of my lkife, so to expect me to agree that the QB position is all that matters, is the end all be all position in this sport aint gonna happen. Plenty of teams in NFL history have won big without the QB being the crux of that success. On the other hand Miami had Dan Marion and couldn't win a SB, the QB position is important, but the position alone doesn't win or lose championships. Yet you want everyone who'll listen to agree with your pov that Chad was end all be all in the success and failures the Jets had from 2000 to 2007. Whatever, the Jets have had issues with running the ball, coaching, Oline and defense since Chads been a Jet, but that's never ever a part of your opinion. It's all Chad or now all Chad and Brett as if there are no other parts to an NFL team. You're the one who doesn't get it. THIS IS A TEAM SPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please show me where I tell everyone they are wrong or that Chad or Brett were the only reason for the Jets failures. You can't because this is just more bullshit that you're making up. It's what you've been doing this entire thread. This is my problem with you. You haven't listened to a damn thing I've said. Sounds like you to me. Why should you care what I think about the Jets? I haven't even made any type of prediction about how the season will end, at least not in this thread. Of course you'll sit here and pretend like I have though. Again, show me where I've ever said the QB position is the only one that matters. Neither would I, but you're intent on applying that position to me. Good for you buddy. I just got back from football - we lost 7-0 on TD pass against us with 18 seconds left. We had o-linemen, including myself, playing skill positions because we were short on people. It sucked. The QB position is very important in a quest for a superbowl. The majority of the time a team with a great QB wins the superbowl. It's not impossible without a great QB and teams without one have won quite a few. I agree with you. Where did I post that? You never stop spewing the bullshit so you? You've applied this bullshit to me what, 4 times, in this post alone?
You're hopeless dude... everyone here agrees that its a team sport. Bad play from players at certain positions can have a greater impact on the game than other positions. Your quarterback is the field general; bad quarterback play, particularly in the form of turnovers, will hurt your team tremendously. You may argue that Chad had very few turnovers last year, and a record-setting completion percentage... which is true. Yet, notice that his yards per attempt was fairly low, because he relies on his check downs. Chad did help quite a lot in leading your team to a division title and the playoffs, which is nothing to be unhappy with after going 1-15. However, to the same effect... the Ravens were smart enough to take away his check downs, and force the weak-armed quarterback to make throws that he can't make. Not enough zip on his passes to make it to the receiver before the corner or safety jumps the route and picks it off. Last year's ravens game was no fluke, and the quarterback was predominantly to blame for the loss. Not that it was really Chad's "fault", but more his lack of physical ability to play his position well. He's one of the smartest most likable guys in the NFL, but at the same time... he doesn't have the physical tools to lead a less than amazing team to the super bowl. Given, if the dolphins had a top 5 defense, or a very dominant rushing attack, or a bunch of outstanding possession receivers/ tight ends that can make guys miss, could chad possibly make it to a super bowl? Sure.... but can a quarterback lose games with terrible play? yes... Chad was largely responsible for the loss against the Ravens in the playoffs, and we've seen it time and time again.
Classic Chad indeed. He rolls away from pressure, sets his feet and overthrows Ginn for the pick. The second pick he throws a floater into double coverage. The third pick he had more than enough time in the pocket. Of course, an un-pressured Chad throws it into double coverage. The fourth pick is classic Chad and goes along with everything everyone's been saying in this thread. Chad tries to squeeze a throw into a tight spot and gets picked off. The OL (tho man-handled all game long) appeared to give Chad time to make those throws. Chad's limited arm and his smarts were really the cause of all those picks.
