think were in for a rude awakening and they are going to win the division again and we as in the Jets are gonna go 3-13. They think ted ginn is the next steve smith and the completely believe there going 10-6 or better this year. They are extremely delusional.
For years I had the utmost confidence that they would collapse in a heap as usual, I hate the fish. Now, based only on the fact that Parcells is the head of that ship, I wouldn't take them for granted for a moment. Face it, where he goes, success/competitiveness follows...
Fins fans are always delusional. That said, I like their chances this year with Parcells at the top better than I like ours with a rookie head coach and a QB who will start a season for the first time. 3-13 is extremely unlikely to happen for us. A more likely result if we have an off year if 7-9 or 6-10. I'd go as far as to say our odds on 13-3 are much better than our odds on 3-13 although neither is remotely likely.
I couldn't care less what any phin fans thinks our chances are. The word delusional is the best word to describe them. Clueless, is a close second though. Having said that, I do think Ryan inherits a pretty talented defense that only got stronger with the additions of Scott, Leonard. Offensely I don't feel nearly as confident. Whomever does win the starting QB job is definitely going to have some growing pains at first. Getting back to the tools over at FinHell, face it, they got every single dose of good fortune last year and it worked out. The road to the AFC East still goes through N.E. Until somebody beats a Brady-led team, that's the truth. I see no better than 8-8 for the fishes. We'll battle them and the Bills for second place...
The fins had everything going for them last season: a cakewalk schedule, a healthy veteran QB with a great football mind, a new CS, and successful gimmick. Look how they fared in the playoffs though. They're not going to be able to rely solely on the wildcat like they did last year, they have fragile, weak-armed QB, and are facing a much more difficult schedule. I think they'll be a decent team, but I expect they'll regress. A lot. For being fans of a team that hasn't won a championship in over 30 years, they sure talk a lot of shit.
As I stated 2 years ago, Ted Ginn is a below average WR. Ginn averaged each year at OSU 50 receptions and 750 yards....not exactly worth of a high round one draft pick.............Oh my bad..DHB was drafted with less statistics Steve Smith is one of the most physical players in the NFL, at any position, Ginn is one of the least physical and shys from contact. Ginn's two year's in the NFL have been mediocre at best. The Phin's passed up Quinn for this loser. The only really good game has had in the NFL was against Buffalo last season.......everything else sucked. I will give Ginn credit for being an outstanding KR.........as a receiver, he doesn't have the skills and is a lousy route runner.
I agree with you. As for FinHeaven, they have a long history of delusion there (although not in this case, see below). Remember the AJ Feeley / Dan Marino "A Legend Reborn" sig image? What a classic that was. I have to say that they are always very cordial to me when I post there, and I believe they have reason for optimism this year. They looked very good last season, and they had a good off-season (including a very good draft). I expect them to challenge for the division this year.
Thats about it right there. I'm a little more on the optimistic side, thinking an 8-8 type season, but we are going to be a middle of the road team unless one of the QB's step up and plays very, very well, or the defense is dominating.
Chad has a hard time stringing consecutive good years together, so I don't think they have a great chance to succeed again this year (with a first place schedule, no less). That said, I agree that Sanchez/Clemens and Ryan make the Jets a complete wildcard.
This thread is funny because its the exact same here... Maybe they are delusional, but you guys are just as delusional for not realizing that you are looking into a mirror LOL...you got people on this board saying that Kerry Rhodes is as good as Ed Reed
Aside from a few posters, this forum is pretty down to earth. And I don't think anyone here has ever said that. Most people here think Rhodes is soft.
I took the liberty for you. I found "rhodes and cotch are easily comparable to reed and mason" and "I honestly think in the right scheme Rhodes will be as good a player as Reed". Neither of those statements are saying what you said they did and while I'm not sure I entirely agree with either, neither is "delusional".
If we still has the tuna I would be strutting around confident also. We should be concerned about them. Doesn't mean we are going ot roll over for them though. Lets see what Rex has got.
Why would the Jets take that big of a step back this year from 9-7 to 6-10. The team only improved. The OL is the same, the RBs are the same. Everyone is making a big deal about the lack of talent at WR, but Coles is one hit away from being done and is slipping. Cotchery was underused last year and the young WRs have potential. Plus, it is the least important position on the field. Keller will be better. The defense is going to so far superior to last year it isn't funny. Mangini coached scared, conservative defense last year, especially in the second half of the season and it showed and really hurt this team. With some of the young talent this team has on defense and a defense-minded coaching staff with new schemes, I think the Jets will be a top 10 defense this year. That leaves QB. Yes, the Jets will have an inexperienced QB, but I still think it will be better than last year in many ways. Favre was horrible. He put up big stats in two games and for the rest of the year was average or terrible. If the 2009 starter avoids turnovers (Favre was the human turnover last year with all those picks and fumbles) and manages the game, the team will be better. I see between 8-10 wins only because of the schedule. No way do I see a drop to 6-10 absent some crippling injuries.
