In addition to this... One of Chad's strengths was/is his smarts. He can read defenses very well and set his blocks, audible, or change a WR's route. If the OC is giving him another 'out route', you'd think he would see a CB shading to the outside and change it. Or, that he would hit his check-down, or simply find the TE sitting in a soft coverage zone. Just because the OC goes out and called Coles' number, it doesn't mean you have to get the ball to him. You'd be an idiot to, let's say, throw the ball to Coles simply because the OC said so while he was double-covered on an out-route. And this is what FishsTicks doesn't get. Chad had freedom in the Jets offense. Those times he cost us the game, either he read the wrong coverage, or because the throw didn't get there in time.
Wait-- I'm the one making excuses? All I've done is state that Chad has always lost to a stout Defense in the 1st or 2nd Round of the Playoffs. Vinny led the Jets to the AFC Championship; correct me if I'm wrong, but Chad never led his team that far. But I didn't need to tell you that. Surely you could have just read it in the box score.
when did he win 2 playoff games? when he was with the jets? yeah he won a few. i also remember a game ending interception on a two minute drill against the jets. i didn't really watch much of the dolphins last year so i won't comment on the game winning drives you mentioned since i have no idea how much the wild cat, and other factors not involving chad were involved. i know against the jets he was forced to run a true two minute drill and in true pennington fashion he forced up a floater and ended the game.
Does the OC tell Chad to check down to his 3rd and 4th option all the time? I love how you're telling people that watched every game Pennington has played in the NFL for 8 years, how good or bad he was, because you watched him for a single year. When the majority of people tell you he folds under pressure, I can assure you; it's not mass delusion. He folds under pressure.
so for amusement i went back and looked at some of his earlier posts on this site. his first batch of posts came at about this same time of the year before the 06 season. he argued with everyone until he was blue in the face that the dolphins would be above average, possibly win the division, and told anyone that thought the jets would be better that they were biased fools. i can only hope he is as correct about this year as he was about the 06 season.
So why didn't Vinny win the game agaisnt the Raiders where he threw for 3 TD's and no int's? Why did the Jets get blown out of that game if all that matters in a playoff game is how the QB played? This is your argument right, the Jets never won a chmpionship with Chad simply because of his play? So why is it the Jets didn't win that playoff game with Vinny? Are you telling me that when the Jets lose playoff games the only time the QB play mattered was when Chad played? Is this Jet fans logic? Cause I fail to see how the Jets lost playoff games when Chad was the QB and it was all Chads fault, but when the Jets lost a playoff game with Vinny, it wasn't Vinnys' fault. I guess that's Jet fans logicjust looking for excuses to blame Chad.
I love how you expect everyone to ignore Vinny's loses in the playoffs as not Vinny's fault but pay atetention to the loses when Chad was the QB cause the losses were always Chads fault. Funny how that door swings. It sure does make blaming Chad a whole lot easier now that Chads a Dolphin doesn't it?
^ *sigh* There are QBs who get the job done and win big games, and there are QBs that don't. Vinny didn't in 1998 when we lost to Denver in the AFC Championship. In the last 8 years, Chad hasn't advanced past the 2nd Round. And he never will.
thats because you don't watch the games you just look at the stats and take them out of context. your right though it is a team game, but qb is a position that has a very large, and very visible impact on the game. they get way more credit than they deserve for a win, and way to much shit for a loss. you can keep trying to defend him all you want and call us all biased, but it took about 5 minutes of looking through your old posts to see your a hypocrite. you were slobbering all over culpeppers nuts just as bad as you are on chads right now back before the 06 season. you even posted up the stats of chad and culpepper to show how much better he was than chad. something tells me your opinion is a bit different now since they are wearing different jerseys.
What is your purpose here?....nobody gives a shit about Pennington...because he's the Phins' embarrassment now....not ours. If you're comfortable having Penny's testicles resting nicely across the bridge of your nose....that's your perogative. But this franchise has moved on.....so have 95% of the posters of this board. You're fighting a losing battle here........which doesn't surprise me...considering the team you support.
You realize there's a difference between Vinny's 3 TD, 0 INT performance and Chad's expected 0-1 TD and 1-3 INT performance, right? Look at the way Chad's teams have always lost in the Playoffs.
RMAGEDON6 The reality would be that we are division champs and you guys came in third. This after paying Favre to be your one year savior, and dropping a few million on free agent pick ups and drafting that spectacular DE from ohio state. You guys don't have a leg to stand on.......... <<<<<<<Like my photo of sanchez and his little daisy duke top?
Nice retort, you posted a reply without addressing anything I mentioned with the exception on the "on paper" comment which I already covered when I said it's only june. Now let's break this down, haynesworth was the anchor of that titans d, he is gone. Yes he may only be 1 player, but 1 player can make a huge impact, like what kris jenkins was able to do for our run d. Let's look at the ravens, a 2nd year head coach and you think every thing will go off without a hitch considering what he lost? And I would prefer u were on your own teams board rather than here with out anything of substance to say.
I can't argue the fact that the Fish were Division Champs. But the reality is, you guys needed a lot of breaks to do it. I'm not going to re-post them again. Look back and find them out for yourself. You needed all the stars to line up just right to pull it off. But you did. Great. Next season will be a true testament at how awesome it was to get those breaks go your way. That's an awesome Sanchez photo. Do you like mine?
Im surprised people are still responding to this loser. Feelthepain is a troll, and a bad one at that. Yet this thread has tons of hits. I know everyone loves a good trainwreck, but shit....
Tho this one is probably my favorite... It's not a sassy as Sanchez' tank top, but wouldn't you like to know what Ms. Taylor has in store for you when he stands up...u Fish fans love him.
Not once have I mentioned testeverde. That was like what? 10 years ago? I was never convinced on the INT machine, either. All I'm saying is that you got Mr. October. There's nothing to argue about that. 1 year of watching the guy hardly makes you an authority on what he does. As Jet fans, we've seen it over and over and over. A quick bounce from the playoffs, assuming he makes it there. And yes it's not all his fault, but he sure as shit didn't help either. See, you listed the stats for the Ravens game last year, and how shitty the running game was. Do you know why? Because good teams stack the box when Pennington is behind center. That's Chad's only game. He'll throw a few down field but most of his game is the underneath reception. If you haven't figured that out by now, then I don't know what to tell you. All we know is, in 8 years, he was a decent QB that brought us a few wins and not a lot more than that. If that is good enough for you, then booya, you have your man. It's fine for a year or two but try watching it for many years. Not so cool after a while. Yes Paul Hackette and Herm Edwards were shitty coaches, there's no secret there. But how do you ignore the fact that even with your Diamond in the rough coaching genius, Sporano, you had the same outcome that Jet fans have become accustomed to? How do you explain that, Mr. Madden? Jeez man, get a grip.
