this is laughable on crowders part. i'm sure he knows that players aren't identified by name by the offense or defense. they are identified by number and position. nobody wastes time learning the names of the players on the other team. in the nfl you have to earn the right to be known by name.
Yeah, I was actually about to post the same thing. Man, Crowder shows how moronic he is every time he opens his mouth.
How am I bragging, by saying the Dolphin have improved and are a better team? That's football talk, based on the previous seasons improvements and the off season moves including the draft. This is a football forum, what are we only allowed to talk about how good the Jets are gonna be because that would make you happy? Get over yourself.
we have an nfl section for the other teams. this is the jets forum. if you wanna post about the phins head over to the nfl section.
Belichick Responds http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/football/bob_blog/2009/06/bill_belichick_responds_to_rex.html
"The Jets figured out how to beat one team", YES, the team that you say is so much better than the Jets. The Jets beat the Phins every 4 out of 5 times, but the Dolphins are the superior team? It's like 5th grade math here, it's not very complicated. The Jets win 17 and the Dolphins win 5. Who's the better team?
1) You've been blowing chad pennington throughout this thread. 2) I haven't even said the Jets are going to be better this season. 3) This is the jets section, albeit a thread about Clam Chowder of the Dolphins bickering with the Jets through the media. The Jets have owned the Lphins over the past decade and I see no reason why that won't continue in '09. I do think the Jets defense WILL be better this season though. Jenkins returns healthy, we picked up an ILB that can cover. Harris returns healthy. We have a real CB opposite Revis and a safety that can cover across from Rhodes. Add to that one of the best defensive coordinators over the past decade calling the defense and I think you'll see a tenacious D. A tenacious D that will shitpiss down your boo's throat. The offense obviously took a hit with the loss of Favre and Coles, though Favre sucked ass down the stretch. If Clemens or Dirty can step up and just play OK I think we'll be fine on O.
Improved yeah, probably. Better team? How the hell do you know? We haven't even played a down this year yet. If you want to go by last year's head-to-head...we split it and that's really all you can go by. Prior to that we've completely wiped the floor with the Fish. Therefore, that's really all you go by right now. You want to say you were a pick away from taking Wekk 1? Fine. We still got a win by dominating the Fish for 3 quarters, no kicker, and with a QB who was learning a completely new Offensive system. Down the stretch we had a broken QB and obvious lousy play-calling (and u can't deny that) and the Fins had all the momentum. Congrats. You managed to put a good run in 1 season where Brady got hurt, the Jets totally collapsed, you introduced the Wildcat, and Chad finished a season upright. A team that needs all those breaks to win the Division hardly constitutes as a superior team for next year.
On one hand, ftp says you can't automatically assume and conclude something based on the previous year; on the other hand, he says the Phins will be an improved team from their 11 win season last year, which makes them the 'superior' team. Contradict much?
I didn't contridict, I used last years record in combination with other factors (the Draft, FA) to determine a means for improvement. One of those factors alone isn't a way to determine improvement, but all three make a much stronger case.
Here ya go Jet fans, the division in a nutshell, Miami Dolphins Combining Every Win and Loss: 400-292 New England Patriots Combining Every Win and Loss: 398-367 Buffalo Bills Combining Every Win and Loss: 358-392 New York Jets Combining Every Win and Loss: 340-412 Number of Division Wins 1.) Miami Dolphins- 13 Times 2.) New England Patriots- 11 Times 3.) Buffalo Bills- 10 Times 4.) New York Jets- 4 Times Number of Wins In the Regular Season: 1.) Miami Dolphins- 380 Wins 2.) New England Patriots- 377 Wins 3.) Buffalo Bills- 344 Wins 4.) New York Jets- 332 Wins Number of Postseason Appearances: 1.) Miami Dolphins- 22 Appearances 2.) Buffalo Bills- 17 Appearances 3.) New England Patriots- 16 Appearances 3.) New York Jets- 12 Appearances Playoff Records: 1.) New England Patriots: 21-13 2.) Miami Dolphins: 20-20 3.) Buffalo Bills: 14-15 4.) New York Jets: 8-11 Number of Super Bowl Appearances: 1.) New England Patriots- 6 SB Appearances 2.) Miami Dolphins- 5 SB Appearances 3.) Buffalo Bills- 4 SB Appearances 4.) New York Jets- 1 SB Appearance Number of Super Bowl Wins: 1.) New England Patriots- 3 SB Wins 2.) Miami Dolphins- 2 SB Wins 3.) New York Jets- 1 SB Win 4.) Buffalo Bills- 0 SB Wins
^ That really doesn't mean anything. What do games played in 1973 have to do with the current state of these teams? If you talk about the past 5-10 years, it's much more relevant because there are players still playing for these teams and there's a current trend which = relevance.
So then the Jets, who won 9 games, and upgraded their Defensive talent, along with cutting loose an inept coach and a QB who turned the ball over more than 20 times, and kept the same OL that has more chemistry now, will do better. Yes?
lmao Rex does it again its on nfl.com on the videos.......he said hes walked over tougher guys walking to a fight than channing Crowder! lmao hes great funny guy go watch the video

So anything that sheds a neagative light on the Jets is irrelevant, but anything that sheds a positive light on the Jets is relevant? The overall stats for the teams combined proves nothing? Why cause the Jets don't have the lead in the stats depeartment overall? I somehow doubt you'd be blowing off those statistics if it were the Jets who owned all the wins. Funny how they become worthless if they don't show the Jets the way Jet fans want everyone to see them.
Common sense would suggest so, however you have made significant changes to key position, HC and QB, who knows how that pans out. It's not as easy to see what the Jets will be in 09 because no one has seen Ryan as a HC and no one has seen Sanchez QB a pro football team. I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest the Jets have question marks at those positions. On the other hand, Miami will be heading back with basically the same core, but with upgrades to some starting and backup position. Miami didn't make any changes to the QB or HC, they only add pieces that better fit their system. Is it so hard to imagine the Dolphins could be better? I don't think so.
