Funny thing about football, it's a team sport. While one player can't win or lose a game all by themselves they can contribute a win or loss. Chad was partly repsonsible for the loss against the Ravens, but Chad doesn't play Defense, WR, RB, T, G or TE and the Dolphins were't better than the Ravens on either side of the ball that gamel. Miami's awesome season and emotinal peek happend the week before in the Meadowlands. Miami had focused all their effort into beating the Jets winning the Division and making the playoffs, Joey was running on empty and the Dolphins simply had nothing left for the Ravens. Chad had a bad game, but it had nothing to do with nonsense it simply because it was the playoffs and the Ravens were the better team. The Dolphin won as a team and lost as a team. The Oline was dominated in the Ravens game, Chad was running for his life all afternoon. Anyone who watched that game and weren't hoping Cahd would fail (Jet fans) knew Chad wasn't the reason for that loss.
If trading for BF and losing Chad for nothing was the price we had to pay to get rid of Mangini is was a price worth paying.
speaking of borrowed time, how long do we give feelthepain before he realizes his team isnt all that he's hyping it up to be?
We split last year. How did Miami play better? The Jets hit it hard to recruit some talent to play for them the offseason. And your president Mr Parcells is the x factor for last season. You sir are a huge Dolphin homer and can't see it.
I love Chad as well as the next... well... umm... I luv Chad. But seriously, you had one little cinderella like season. Don't get ahead of yourself or anything. Let's wait and see what everyone brings to the table this coming season.
Don?t you remember how euphoric Parcels makes you feel at first? Then you realize that he is the best in the world at picking teams with records far worse than talent, having the great first year turn around only to go 8-8 two more times before annihilating the cap, filling the roster with his over the hill wash-ups and quitting. Whatever Parcells is going to do to his competitors, he does in the first year?then he does nothing but have amusing press conferences.
They may have Split but Miami should have won both games. As for being a "huge homer", I don't think I am. I'm not here telling everyone Miami will dominate the division, I've not once said Miami is better than the Pats or Jets. All I'm doing is saying Miami is progressing towards being a much better team. That's hardly being a homer, it happens to be true that Miami is moving forward and getting better. As for BP, he will alwasy be the x-factor because he's so respected by everyone. I think Him moving away from coaching but still being the guy everything goes through was a natural fit for him. It allows him to use his ablity to evaluate talent, it allows him to use his presence at practice to motivate and keep players on their toes. But it also takes away any need to interact with the media and the day to day grind of being a HC coach. I think BP likes what he's doing. I also think this is his last year in Miami and he will move on to another team in the same capacity.
BP isn't coaching the Dolphins TS is, so he's not exactly the same guy for us he was for the Giants, Pats, Jets and Cowboys.
Don't sit here and preach like you're the only one who understands football. No shit it's a team game. I said the Fins were outmatched. You're telling me shit I already posted. Every QB needs a solid team around him to succeed. That doesn't change the fact that Chad was the worst player on the field that day, and it doesn't change the fact that he's never been able to attack the better defenses in the NFL. He was more than partly responsible, but you refuse to admit it. You'll learn. You sound exactly like all the Jets fans that made excuses for him for years. Poor, poor Chad. Always held back by those surrounding him ...
I think the Dolphins are looking at a break even season.... hell the Jets have a good chance of being break even this season too. I believe they will be a tough division opponent for us, but whether it is because they are overachieving, or we are underachieving (much like last year) is anyone's guess at this point.
I don't hope he fails, I just know he is going to fail. He sets the fan up well for the kill-shot. It's going to be fun watching you guys suffer at the swoon.
Man, it's amazing how the excuse-cannon gets set to auto-fire for Chad. Don't get me wrong, I was guilty of that a few years ago, but reality likes to assert itself at some point and you have to stop kidding yourself. I doubt Chad will be the starter for the Fish in 2010, but I really hope he is. BTW, we know Chad wasn't the reason for the loss, man. We know it far better than you because there has been a 10,000 page novel written about him on this forum. We know that Chad doesn't lose games. His teammates lose games and his O-line loses games and the playcalling loses games and the defense loses games. Chad doesn't lose games. Chad just wins games.
That's very accurate. As long as the defense doesn't falter, the running game doesn't fail, the offensive line stays strong, the play-calling stays smart, the wide receivers get separation and the rotator cuffs don't, CHAD WINS GAMES. PERIOD.
I wrote a poem for you Phin fans Roses are red violets are blue Chad sucks you into thinking he's going to bring you to glory but always comes up short in the big game, when the pressure is on. Werd.
Oh man, I can't believe I missed this discussion as it unfolded. I too felt the same way feelthepain felt. "You'll see, Chad stayed healthy this season, so now, this next season he'll work on his mechanics and strength to make those accurate passes and long balls. You'll see." Too bad that Chad never showed up. Is it possible for him to finish next season behind center? Yeah, sure. But I don't see them winning a Playoff spot. Brady is back and it's the Patriots Division to lose. The Fish no longer have that element of surprise on Beli (did you see their 2nd meeting? Wildcat and all...Fish still got dominated!). The way thru a Wildcard will be thru the Jets. Now...you said... You say we've remained the same in talent with the exception of the best QB in the Draft, as well as coaching. Have you been paying attention at all the offseason? We've added a 2-time Pro-Bowl Corner opposite Revis, a LB in his prime and a Safety that came from the same coaching system that kicked your ass just this past Post-Season. Not to mention you play the Steelers and Chargers. Ur on crack if u think ur gonna beat the Steelers. And the Chargers get a healthy (but aging) LT back, Merriman, and English, a beast LB on D. U still think you'll win that game 17-10 in THEIR field?? I'll give you this...you are optimistic, which I guess you have to be in the off-season, but it's gonna be sweet watching you go thru what the Jets fans went thru with Chad. Once that happens, the QB questions will begin. Henne or White. Which unproven QB will you go with that will win you the Division then? Hmmm...
