What your saying is true, but whats a bigger disadvantage: 1. Making opponents mad at you. 2. Being afraid of making opponents mad at you. Remember that great pre game speech BF gave before the second Miami game? That one didn't make anyone mad. Remember Joey Porter yelling his head off before that same game?
Ohh boo hoo the Pats have dominated us boo hoo I'm glad we have Rex as the coach now..Rex is basically telling Beilichicka to stick his rings up his behind. Tom Brady better wear extra pads on that leg come week 2
Haha he's a good role model! Are the Dolphins a church organization or a football team? How many INTs did he throw? Trust me, that was no fluke, that's what Chad does when the pressure is on. The Wildcat is a gimmick, nothing more nothing less. Why not run the statue of liberty and the flea flicker, a ton of end-arounds, etc... Here's the difference about the upcoming season and our respective teams: You were 11-5 and expect the same. The only thing we can expect is an aggressive D. So when we try to quantify expectations and what the probable let-down factor will be, the phins fans stand to absorb a whoooole lot more disappointment. But hey, maybe Chad can do some fund-raisers next January.
Lol I am still amazed by this. Damn. I like my team. But I don't start acting like this if somebody has a different opinion. As far as Rex Ryan. He did call out the team just by saying the Pats. I'm saying that he probably should have kept his mouth shut, because after game 2 you should expect something like what the Pats did to the Chargers.
From your comments you have fallen into the trap that Bart Scott and Rex Ryan have set. Pretty obvious you are drinking their koolaid without even seeing anybody in preseason action. Tom Brady doesn't need to worry about the Jets. He needs to worry about teams with top defenses like baltimore, tennessee, etc
and the Titans dismantled the Steelers. But who won when it mattered? Did the Jets make the playoffs? lol fluke games always happen
There's nothing off topic about it. The Phins caught a few teams off-guard last year. Nothing more, nothing less. That's why I'm saying the wildcat shit won't last forever.
Is our "D" (personnel-wise) going to be able to transform into a different *elite* defense? I mean, even early in the season last year (before Mangini played a more passive style, before Farve's arm went south, on the way to going 8-3/beating the Titans) the 0-2 Chargers absolutely stuffed the ball down the Jets throats...48-29...and it was painful to watch. Granted Jenks had to sit a portion of that game, but what of the other 10 guys on 'D' that night? If it happens again (Jenks has to sit a spell), is the addition of just 2 guys (Scott and Leonhard) alone going to bring this team to a totally different level? Last year when Jenkins sat out at San Diego, the "other 10" didn't step up and the Bolts promptly man-rammed it down their throats, setting up Rivers to throw when HE wanted to throw. IMHO, we'll be improved but to suggest we're going to be among the elite "D's" in the league seems premature. Also note the Giants (hate to cite this) physically ran the ball down the Ravens throats last year as well. '85 Bears. '01 Ravens. THOSE were defenses. jmho
I can easily see the Vikings, Bears, Skins, Eagles, Giants, Titans, Steelers, Ravens,Pats all having better defenses than the Jets. Of course we will have to see all teams in action to know...
Absolutely nothing. Tom Brady should worry about every defense at this point. All the guy was saying was that the Jets are going to be very aggressive on D. They haven't been for a long time, so don't expect the same shit. That's it and that's all. Now you explain to me what that has to do with Crowder? Nothing. What does that have to do with you being here backing up a player that nobody will remember 10 years from now? Nothing.
I get the feeling that our D will shut down the Phins this year. That must have Crowder worried. Other than that, I'm not sure why he's all huffy puffy about what Ryan said.
Tom Brady better be worry about every defense....last year (and i think im correct or maybe one or two spots off) only 1 or two teams allowed more sacks than them...and when they went to the super bowl their o line was exposed so you cant say last year was because they basically had a rookie qb....So yea i would say they should be scared not because we are going to be elite because no1 knows that yet but because WE WILL BE ATTACKING....and thats a fact
Yep, that's right, look where you are right now, sitting at 0-0. Same as everybody else. What you did last year means NOTHING right now. You, as a fin fan should know that better than anybody. Remember a long time ago, like last season, you were one play away from 0-16. Betcha didn't like going back and referencing that season as much as you like to speak of your division title. Man, I live in S. FL and you're exactly like the rest of them down here. Living in S. Fl there are numerous fans of teams from all over the NFL and the one thing everybody agrees with is that Fin fans are so clueless/delusional. Look around this site and you'll see Jet fans constantly poking fun, and talking down our team. Back to your team, just wait until Tuna bolts and your boy Ireland is calling the shots and Soporno has to start deciding who his QB is, then we'll see how good the management really is.
Just by the personnel decisions alone, on paper, the Jets defense looks better than last season. Add Rex Ryan and his agressive scheme and I will say that the defense will be better than last seasons, barring injury disasters. Last season, the defense showed lots of potential early. So the building blocks are there. Mangini couldn't keep it all glued together and maybe the Dolphins did us a favor by beating us in the last game of the season. It solidified Woody's decision to fire him. So thank you Dolphins for opening Woody's eyes.
Are you serious? How many INT's did he throw? 7 INT's and 19 TD's. I guess Chad can't compete with Brett Favres 25 INT's last year, but what are you gonna do, right? Chad is a very intelligent, hard working, learder. He's a winner and as you can see when placed in a situation to win, does so very well. He obviously had a better season for the Fins than he did at any time as a Jet. So maybe it was the philosphy and caoching in NY and not Chad. You can pretend the Jets epic failures were all Chad, but he didn't have a problem winning in Miami and with less talent around him. Miami is well coached, they know what they have and they use it well, they don't try to do things they aren't equipt to do. As for losing to the Ravens in the playoffs, their D was too good for our O at that point in time. I guess you could blame Chad, but how do you explain the year before when the Pats won every single game blowing people out like crazy having maybe the best offense in the hostory of the NFL losing to the Giants in the SB? It happens, great defense will more often than not beat great offenses. It's just too hard to score in this league and if you face a stout defense they will win more than they lose. Miami was coming off a 1-15 season, they didn't exactly have the best offense in the NFL so the Ravens had a huge advantage. What are ya gonna do? I sure as hell don't blame Chad for not having enough weapons to beat that very strong Ravens defense. Hell the Ravens went into Pittsburgh last year and nearly won that that title game, how the hell could we possibly expect to compete at that time last year? Nevertheless, Miami had a great season, loaded with positives and this year we will only be better. The teams is familiar with each other, the coaching has a better grasp on the talent and the new addition and the attitude right now is 10 times better than what it was last year at this time. Miami is a better football all around than they were last year at this time, much better.
Gee, last year at this time Miami was coming off a 1-15 season, do you think Jet fans were acting as if that was NOTHING? Did Jet fans claim that 1-15 season was the previous season and no one was thinking about what the Fins did the year befor? HELLLLLLL NOOOOOOO, everything the Jet fans said last year at this time was the Dolphins suck, they'll be lucky to win 2 games, they are a long ways from being competitive. That's what Jet fans and most of the NFL were saying. But now that Miami is coming off an 11-5 season and a division title, that suddenly becomes meaniless and has little value heading into 09? Please explain to me this logic? Tell me how losing matter the year before, but winning doesn't? Here I'll explain it for you, it works because thats what makes you feel better, thast's all. Sure last year was last year and what they did last year is no guarantee to happen this year, but Miami is doing things the right way. We didn't go from 1-15 to 11-5 with the same staff and players. We did it with an entirely new coach, GM and Cheif exectuive of football operations. In other words BP, Jeff Ireland and Tony Sparano. Miami added talent, new philosphies and work ethic. We have the toughest off season program in the league, bar none. Miami knows they can win they've seen it and done it. They have the confidence they didn't have last year at this time. They're hungry and feel disrespected afterall everyone is just handing the division to the Pats, hell Jet Bill and Pat fans all feel Miami isn't for real, all the ingredients to be a team on the rise a team with something to prove. Miami is a much better team right now than they were a year ago at this time.
