"I've never played a football game in June" again, a fact. and as you mentioned, the OTA super bowl champ part is obviously opinion. Personally, I can see what he's trying to say. Saying things in June is one thing, but you still gotta back it up on the field. I can agree with that. In fact, I think most of us can agree with that. But the fact of the matter is, I don't think Ryan's actions and words are that outlandish. He's just trying to change the culture of this team. For too many years we were a bunch of wimps, letting the opponents dictate what we do on the field. We would allow teams like the patriots in our head. But no longer will that be the way the Jets are. And that's what Coach Ryan is inferring. Call it being cocky or arrogant or loudmouthed, but he's making it known that we will not play down to our opponents anymore. and we will not back down from a challenge. As I said, We'll see if his coaching matches his mouth very soon, but honestly, anything's better than Mangini!
