I'm okay with it on message boards to a certain degree. When you start getting into run-on sentences with no punctuation and then throw in the hieroglyphics though, sometimes it becomes so difficult to read that the post basically gets ignored. But with emails, I'm not so down with that. I handle my own summer rentals on a duplex I own at the Jersey shore, and I send and receive a lot of emails. I'd never send out an email to someone inquiring about one of my rentals with all that nonsense in it... I just don't consider it to be very professional. I'm sure most businesses today feel that way also... at least I hope they do.
Oh, I agree. I don't mind an occasional one here or there, but honestly you don't get it that much. It's very rarely a mix of proper English and that crap. It's usually one or the other. Anything where I actually have to try to decipher what the person is trying to say usually gets ignored.
it duz get old wen U have too spend two much tyme reeding stuff B/C UR con-stantly deecifering werds & simbals & mis-spelings. and ad in no punktiation two the eekuasion & U reely get confused and tyred of reeding all togethur. then U get run on sentances too boot & after a wile it be-comes two teedious two even bother.
Funny I think all U English pros should join a English forum. I think U all forget this is a FB forum not a English course. In fact all these posts belong in the BS forum since they have zero to do with the NYJs & far less to do with the seating in the new stadium
THANK YOU CHAMP,these god damn complainers first the seat process then there jealous of you getting the seats you wanted. now bustin on how you type??? haters
This thread has been one hell of a ride, 17a. 62 pages and still going strong. I'm glad you got good seats and everyone else who is satisfied with what they got. I just think the Jets never predicted the amount of resistance to the PSLs... it's more the ticket prices, I think... but anyway, I'm glad some of us got some good seating and the Uppers are gonna rock, that's for sure. Not sure I'll be part of that, but whatever... I've got another two weeks and by then it'll be slim pickins' and nothing to get excited about. The whole thing is anti-climatic for me now.
im sorry to hear that.maybe you can buy a game or 2 from me if you want.i never make a full season anyway
My lifestyle has changed somewhat from what it was several years ago, so this whole thing is a little less important to me now than I thought it would be back when the subject of a new stadium first emerged. My kids are in their 30's and are both married, but I used to take both sets of them to a lot of the games as recently as last year and they had the time to do this. But now both of them have given birth to a whole new generation last fall, a month apart. So now we have two brand new grandchildren in the family and the result is, we're spending a lot of time with them and the new babies. Their Sundays are not the same now and, quite frankly, won't allow for killing an entire day in the Meadowlands. The result is, it's not going to be as easy or feasable for them to be going to many games now, at least for the next 3-5 years. I had been hoping to get decent seats and then have them for when the grandkids get a little older, but that's not to be for now. But nothing is ever written in stone either. I expect to see a lot of PSLs for sale 20 months from now and also plenty of seats on eBay and Stubhub available on a per-game basis, so all is not lost. We can all still be Jets fans and watch the games on TV for the next couple of years and then, if I decide I want to pay the heavy freight at some point, pick up some PSLs if I so choose. My wife and I have also decided to retire to FL on a 6-month basis... buy a condo there and spend 6 months there and 6 at our other home at the Jersey shore (LBI) for the summers. If we execute this plan, it rules out attending many winter games at the new stadium. Thus, for me, getting involved with PSLs make even less sense. I don't know, we'll see what happens. I'll take a look at what's left in the Uppers and like many others, may try it for a year and see how it goes. If it's too cumbersome, I just drop out and buy select games on a need-to-go basis whenever it suits us. I've been a STH for so long, I know the burden of having seats that you've paid for and are sometimes unable to use. It's a PITA sometimes, especially when you forget and there's a game this Sunday and you can't go and you wind up basically wasting the seats. The Preseason bullshit has gotten to be a PITA too, as those games have become more and more meaningless with every passing season.
i agree wholeheartedly with this! it drives me nuts to see people i work with typing using the hunt and peck method. i constantly tell people they need to learn how to type. they say they make it through. i finish my reports in half the time simply because i can type the damn things at over 40 wpm. its a real shame that people cant figure out there, their and they're its such a simple difference in the 3. although i do think that the mistyping of they're is simply laziness in alot of cases. it is just too much work to use your pinky to click that little ' then again they probably dont know where it is. and that is the other problem with the population of our great state, pure and simply laziness.
I have the date of June 16 but it was told to me on the phone about 2 weeks ago. I don't know whether they are exactly adhering to these dates or not right now. Perhaps somebody else can answer that question? Are they pretty much on the money with the dates you guys were given or are they running behind (or ahead)?
Waiting for the call... either today or tomorrow. The topic of the forum is irrelevant, the important thing is that it is a forum where people seek to communicate with others. When one is a poor communicator, they should not be surprised when they are not taken seriously by those who are forced to decipher a poorly constructed message.
First post - I got the call this morning (1981 senority) - currently in sec 309, row 6. I chose section 343, row 8, seats 7-8 (which might be the first row - he mentioned some sections start with row 5, some row 8 and on the website there are no rows 6/7 for this section. Was offered 342, row 11 or 309 row 13. I was looking for the lowest row upper sideline on the racetrack side (hope I got it right) - we usually park in the lot right by the road on that side and exit out past the racetrack since we live in CT and going the GWB route is hopeless. He did try to get me to take the mezzanine PSL (no chance). Like a lot of fans we'll go for the first year and revaluate after that. I'm still confused what constitues the "sun side" of the stadium since the orientation has changed.
I am also 1981 and I got my call at 1pm today. I actually called and left a message ealier just to check. Pretty easy task, told her off the bat that we want to know the lowest rows available in the upper deck for 6 tickets with a configuration of 6 in a row, 3 and 3 or 4 and 2. Section 321, 320 and 319 & 318 were all within 7 rows starting from rows 6-13 as was section 333 and that area. We all wanted the sunny side so that eliminated 333 and that area. Section 318 was row 13, 6 seats together in the middle of the row and section 319 was row 10 and 11, 3 +3, seats 9-11 in both rows with seat 11 being the aisle. Bingo, 2 aisle seats, 3 seats behind each other, pretty low in the UD and avoids the end zone. I booked them Dano. I would say there are a lot of seats still available for you 1984 and beyond guys. Sounds like most of the end zones are available and in the corners aboue row 10. I am very happy considering I stayed of out the corner end zone and got aisle seats and the 3 and 3 configuration. Good luck to the rest and I am glad its over. C U Champ, TY, YW BRB,K & BI
I think you got the shady and the racetrack side. You got about what I got on the other side. Not as good as we had but not so bad.
Thanks buddy and to everyone for being " Dr. Melfi" to each other. God, we act like our tickets are our first born.
