those include the two fumbles lost at the start of two games that we lost (end of the season, can't off the top of my head recall which ones - sorry)? he has production and he has fuck ups. imo the bad outweghs the 113 yards positive.
I only remember the one at the Denver game. Did we lose the other one? edit: No we didn't. edit2: I still think he should have been called down on that play. The refs fucked up.
i may be wrong, it happens from time to time , but for some reason the denver game was a big one and i remember some big "Doh!" moment in a game or two after that.
Wow, lotta hate for the OP. I think it's a valid idea; I don't know why we'd use Danny Woodhead instead of Shonn Greene; seems like we'd be telegraphing plays to the edges. But I don't think it's entirely unlikely to see Schotty using some form of the wishbone. Think about it this way- Brian Schottenheimer's rookie OC year, everyone was hailing him as one of the innovative young minds of the NFL. Then his schemes were shut down in 2007 and 2008, thanks to a lot of inadequate players. In that time, Schottenheimer gets to see the Wildcat, a formation he had all the pieces in place to thrive with, take off. Schottenheimer has been almost obsessed with working Brad Smith into the running game and though effective, he hasn't drawn out Smith's potential. He likes fancy shit. He's got better personnel and more play-calling freedom this year than in any previous year. He's going to try to inject something innovative into the offense, I'm certain of it. Whether it works or not is another thing entirely. Thread title was a little misleading, BTW.
Yeah that was shitty, it was the only game I went to last year. I still say he shoulda been called down though.
The problem with Brad Smith standing behind Center is that we're telegraphing the play. It's a 98% chance we're gonna run the ball. Having Keller "spit out wide" isn't going to keep the safeties honest, because they're gonna play the run. There's nothing new about this formation. The only way they can improve or upgrade this formation is if Brad Smith actually throws the ball and connects for long gains. Then the Safeties will start respecting this formation or any wildcat formation we may look to run in the future.
