Ah ur welcome on the Florham Park thingy. As for not going down without a fight BOL on that front as well
Loved My Season Tickets, But Can't Rationalize The PSL The Catch 22 of this whole PSL mess is that the guys with the seniority (25+ years) are being offered sky high options. As a season ticket holder since 1985, I got offered 1st row Mezz seats on the 45 yard line with club access. For a mere $20k PSL/seat, it could be mine. Well that and the $500 ticket/seat/game. So you would have to add that pesky $10k/year to the mix. And that club access thing isn?t exactly free either. It just makes it easier to pay ridiculous prices for beer and halfway decent food. Still, my personal seat advisor Nick couldn?t have been any faster in asking for my credit card number ?to lock me in?. As Nick waited, the thought that came top of mind was how much I paid back in 1985. At that time, both season tickets cost a grand total of $400. Ticket prices were $25/game and Leon was one of only two NFL owners who didn't make you buy the Exhibition Games. $400 back in the day gave me two season tickets. Now they wanted $500 for just one ticket. I thought about migrating back to the upper deck, but that wasn't too appealing. I?ve read on the forums here that that the 3rd row of the upper deck will be higher than the last row of the old stadium. Also didn?t want to be one of those guys dislodging people from seats they like just because I don?t want to be held hostage for the lower levels. So I'm bailing. I will probably look to cherry pick a game or two, maybe take my daughter to an exhibition game, it will be nice to pay true value for exhibition game tickets. Still love the team, still bleed green, but this PSL thing is 100%, totally, absolutely bogus.
You should have given the uppers a try for one year, you have nothing to lose. Going from the lower deck to the upper deck is gonna be a shock to people so i guess you know better. I hate hearing long time leaving becuause our fan base is eroding every year.
its sucks and even though i have good seats i am selling games off so i can justify spending this much on FOOTBALL TICKETS
I think both the Jets and Giants will come to understand that disenfranchising the core is no way to run a season ticket strategy. I think the Jets fan base is as strong as ever, but the Jets have to show the love again. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening for at least a few more years. When the Jets have to buy out seats to keep the game from being blacked out and when Home games are dominated by fans from the other team, then they'll come up with some innovative ways to woo back the faithful.
bowl i like what you been saying bro great posts.when they finally do come to realization all the longtime die hard fans like ourselves will have bought the big screen and found a new way to celebrate nyjets football sundays it will be too late. i too will cherry pick a few games off stub-hub or here and only attend 1-2 games. ya know that saying about prying the gun from my cold dead hands well the nyjets are prying my tickets away from my warm paying alive hands. im so disgusted and aggravated with this organzation if it werent for the players and coaches and me bleeding green id quit on this franchise and be done with it. woody johnson and his psl bullshit have ruined a lifelong experience for me and my family and friends. and im pissed and heart broken
Most long time die hards will be in the upper deck ( start-1985) and 16 years is not a long time compared to most of us. I feel for you guys, I would feel the same way, but the Jets will survive just fine, especially since they get most of their $ from TV. The fans are hurt, not the team or owner.
316 stick it bro 16 years is a longtime and i can guarantee you that you wont enjoy the game in the sky high uppers. i wish you a nose bleed every sunday. wave to me if you can see me when im sitting in the lowers 1-2 games drinking a cold beer watchin the game without binoculars. ok dude. i will survive will you?
Seniority Jumpers I spoke to my Jets Rep today and they did in fact check on that person account who I said has 2006 seniority, and already has been confirmed with seats. They said that it was true from checking the name and the account number, but was not quite sure how that happened!!! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!
I expected you to respond that way, but please, its section 314 and I will not be envious of anyone at all. Its is what it is. If I don't like the seats, then I will not renew but I have been sitting high for TWENTY NINE LONG YEARS. I hope you can go to as many game as you can afford, we need hardcore fans like you in the lower level. Good luck and as my brother to the left sang " I WILL SURVIVE"
A friend of mine, who will remain nameless, told me that when he got his 1977 seniority seats that he raised a big stink about making sure that his 2001 seniority family members get the seats next to him. The jets told him that they are "holding" the other seats for his family members so that when they get the call they can take the seats being held. This whole process stinks to hell !
PSL Crap We all know that. I just really believed that the Jets were really going try to make this a fair process, unfortunately Woody and his PSL Henchpeople have really screwed the pooch on this one.
The problem is there really is no fair way to go about this. Whatever they did it would have pissed people off.
Well the easiest way was to take the Kraft route up in NE & give every STH a hefty boost which he did but he did not also assess a PSL & every STH was able to keep the seats they had. So at the end he got his PSL & probably more since the price increase is forever vs Woody more instant money grab
If U can prove this allegation then I would think the FAN & the NY newspapers would quite interested in this story.
Seniority Jumpers Unfortunately I am not an eloquent speaker, and I am not sure if I could get all the points across clearly in print or on the radio. It just really sucks the way they are going about this. If anyone has a media contact that we could let the masses know what is going on, that would be great!!!!
People would have complained over a hefty boost too. Face it, there was no good way this was going to end.
