I'd love to know where this information comes from. Clearly, the writers have stated that the woman is accusing Rhodes. Then, they say they haven't spoken with anyone at the police department or at the attorney general's office. The only source they quote in this piece is Rhodes, who states that he is not the subject of the allegation. Regardless of the events, there is some shoddy scooping at play here...
Well that's not good. Not that this is anything substantial - and I think someone mentioned this earlier - but just based on Rhodes' persona, he doesn't seem like the type who would rape someone, especially when he's considered a good-looking guy. Of course, anything can happen and anyone is capable of committing any act, but I refuse to jump to conclusions on either side.
Maybe this is similar to the Kobe case in which the girl consented to sex but the boys decided to get freaky and donkey punched her.

Let's use some common sense and decency here (for once). Nobody "deserves" to get raped. Even if the woman consented to sex in NYC and drove all the way to Morristown and at the last minute changed her mind and said NO, then it is rape and whoever had sex with her violated the law. Consensual sex means consensual before and during. Does anybody remember the Mike Tyson case? Was he innocent? We need to let the facts come out and the criminal system handle it. Before then it is just wrong to pass judgment on the woman involved or Rhodes. Some of the comments about this incident in this thread are downright troubling and if any of you actually believe or act on your thoughts, we'll be reading about you in the papers next. I am hoping it is internet anonymity bravado and nothing more.
Nobody knows except the people involved. Conceptually the idea expressed over and over on this board that the bitch or the slut was looking to get laid and the concept that a good looking athlete and his friends had the right to do whatever because she agreed to go to NJ with him is where I have an issue. We all have mothers and sisters many of whom are bitches and sluts. We still shouldn't want them raped because of our less than charming attitude toward the fact that they might like sex but change their mind when the situation became less than desirable.

Every thing that we say in this thread is pure conjecture. The Post article came out very early this morning. The Daily News article came out at 1:30 PM One would assume that the authors of the Daily News article had some time to do some research. The tone of the Daily News article is much more somber for Rhodes then the Post article. If I was a reporter here is what I would do. The NJ police have the official investigation on this. They are mum. As they should be. One of the twists are that the young lady went to a local precinct in NYC to report the rape. The NYC cops rightly decided it was not their jurisdiction, and drove the young lady to NJ. They are clean of the case. They have also heard the allegations. If I were a reporter that is where I would go for any information. The guys that heard her original complaint are no longer involved in the case. The alleged crime took place in NJ. Good chance they would spill the beans. If the reporters went ahead and printed this article, which directly contradicted what Rhodes said without some knowledge from a fairly reputable source it is very irresponsible reporting, and they should be fired. I suspect they have the backup for the story. Just my opinion

It wasn't just suggested, the NY Daily News specifically said that he was accused of rape. Someone is in some shit at that paper.
My bet is someone said the girl was going to go after Rhodes in civil court and it got assumed it was her going after him for rape. If I was to guess the girl probably went back to have sex with Rhodes, he didnt want to/had a different girl and his boys went after her.
