I know it is hard for some of you guys to understand how some other guys might feel toward these accusations of rape, but let's make this clear. Women have lied repeatedly about this situation. Men have lost their families behind some lie, so if some of us in here are not understanding towards her it is because of history. Personally I feel that people are doubting what happened is a good thing. I rather someone have doubts than someone going in with guns blazing ready to take her side of the story. We get this quite often over here in the uk with premiership players It's got the point now where Manchester United don't have a christmas party on the town because almost every year a player, usually from the reserves, gets accused of raping someone. If you had just been raped what would your thoughts be? Go to the police, press charges and ring up the post or go to the police, press charges and grieve like crazy because you have just been a victim of one of the most horrible crimes there is? I see she is Canadian. It doesn't say what part, but living near the border of Canada myself, all I can say is ... not every place in the world has men with such Neandertahl attitudes as this. And How many times does it happen with football/basketball/whatever players? I can understand all perspectives on this. Yet as I said in my original post on the first page, once the accusation is out there it's hard to live down. So even if Rhodes has nothing to do with this, his image has already been tarnished. I said Rhodes will get through this however it doesn't end there. I'm sure Kerry will be the subject of many taunts from protesters and certain groups even if he is found of no wrongdoing in this. It's unfortunate for Kerry that he put himself in this position. Those Duke Lax guys are still living through some painfully tough times even though they were completely exonerated of any wrongdoing with that girl and that was 2 years ago. I don't have any issue whatsoever with anyone's beliefs on this topic. What I do have issue with is our overly litigious society where people run to make accusations (baseless or inaccurate as they may be in many cases). In the court of public opinion, The Accused tends to be guilty until proven innocent. Somewhere along the way we've become this dog-eat-dog society where seeing people get smeared and embarrassed is completely acceptable. It's very skewed. Again, I won't comment on the accuser's allegations until the facts are all in.
I have had my share of late night encounters. I lived in NYC for 14 years. Can't remeber one time where the girl cried rape, went to the police to file charges put herself through a rape kit examination. I also know my share of women who can act pretty bitchy. I don't call them bitches to justify my acting like a criminal. How many basketball players, football players, act like thugs brand themselves with prison tats to look cool and treat women like bitches or their own property? How many athlete's have children with mutiple partners out of wedlock? The evidence will either be there or it won't. If it doesn't stick I'm sure Rhodes will be fine. If it does and it goes to court the women will be put on trial and be put through the gauntlet as will Rhodes. That's the system and Pro athlete's know the score.
