Tupa came in when Vinny went down but never started.

Fielder came in when Chad was injured, but he got injured too and never started.

He started two games for Phoenix in 1989 and 11 in 1991.
Gary Hogeboom was the regular starter in 1989.
Timm Rosenbach started all 16 games for Phoenix in 1990. He was a very tough QB, but retired early due to various injuries and concussions.

Those were the guys who replaced Neil Lomax. Lomax was a very good QB, but had to retire at the age of 29 due to a hip injury. Lomax's best season was 1984 when he led the conference in attempts (560), completions (345), yards (4614), and touchdown passes (28). He had a 92.5 passer rating that year.

No wonder why the Cards have sucked for so long - they must love having Warner and Whisenhunt

Missed 3 Norrie, Mackey and Frank Reich. I must have been doing some serious drugs when Frank Reich played for the Jets to start that many games and I still have no recollection of it even after seeing his name there.

All seven of Reich's Jets starts came during the 1-15 Rich Kotite season. He is one of three Terrapins from the list.

I think they misspelled Glenn Foley's first name which threw me off. One always needs to make allowances for ignorance these days. Anyway, 15 right on my iPhone.

    Same here, 19/23

  14. Parcells had brought in Scott Zolak from New England to be the back-up. Afterall it was another one of "his guys". Zolak, however, was absolutely HORRID in TC to the point where I'm not even sure he made it through 2 preseason games before being cut.It didn't help that Parcells was hell bent on having Tupa be one of the main back-ups to save a lousy roster spot(Parcells would seemlingly do anything to save one lousy spot to carry a 6th DB)

At that point, Mirer got cut in Chicago and everybody thought the jets were catching a big break by scooping him up. I recall a Sunday night game against Buffalo not soon after the Testaverde injury...we learned who the real Rick Mirer was pretty quickly. Embarassing

I thought we traded with Green Bay to get Mirer? Either way he was terrible!!

  16. Junc just corrected me...we did indeed trade for Mirer. But many thought it was a great move...thought it was chicago and not GB though..

I'm pretty sure it was Green Bay. I know Parcells always liked Mirer back when him and Bledsoe were coming out of college. Mirer never lived up to his potential for sure.

  18. I watched a show on NFL network about all time busts and they talked in detail about Mirer. I guess as his career went along teams realized he simply could NOT throw to his left...which as you can imagine caused some serious issues for everyone involved.

Funniest thing in his story were the circumstances behind his early success as a rookie. Turns out, that Seattle's coach Tom Flores wanted to make things as ridiculously simple for Mirer as possible. Literally...if Mirer had the SLIGHTEST question about a play/formation it was thrown out of the playbook. Seattle's O/Mirer had a grand total of 6 passing plays at their disposal that whole season. It's a testament to how good Joey Galloway and Brian Blades were at that stage to make Mirer actually look good w/ that elementary strategy of play.Unbelieveable.

Yeah, I saw that show too. I love their Top 10 shows. They are very educational.

    17.

Bollinger, Eason and Trudeau are the 3 I missed that I should have gotten. Other 3, no idea.
