Chansi Stuckey continues to catch everything in sight and is a virtual lock for the #2 receiver position. But it seems no matter what he does, reporters continue to clammer [sic] for the Jets to go out and get a prominent receiver. It?s like people have blinders on when it comes to this issue of the Jets not having enough firepower at wideout.

To me, Stuckey looks like he can be special. Not only does he have really good hands, but he?s superb at running after the catch. He has excellent moves in the open field . . .

Speaking of receivers looking good at Jets camp, this Huey Whitaker looks like a player. For some reason he?s listed at 6-2, but is actually 6-5. He does a terrific job at going up and getting high passes, and is very strong at a rock solid 220 pounds. It looks like the Jets have found something in this former Arena League star

I got this over at thejetsblog, but I can't view the whole article because it's a paid site.

Hopefully Stuckey can stay healthy and become a bigger asset to the Jets

Fuck yeah, Stuckey. Earn that gig, man. From the seventh round to the starting line-up.

Wow...a 6'5 WR in the Jets uniform? It's been a while. Hope this guy can be the 4th WR behind Clowney. A tall endzone threat is what we have lacked for years.

I have always been a big fan of Stuckey. Injury problems hurt him during draft time and kept him off the field his rookie year. He seems to catch everything thrown to him, and as the article says, he is great with YAC

Huey Whitaker? Now there's a guy who should change his name to "Ocho Cinco"!

As far as Stuckey, this kids been making plays every time he gets the ball thrown his way. I'm pretty confident his play on the field will speak for itself.

I have been high on this kid after watching him down here in the south for years. He, IF healthy, is a great WR and will impress alot of folks, much like Cotchery did rising from the dead after we drafted him.

I have been a fan and rooting for him to break into the lineup to be that 3rd wr when it was coles and Cotch. But now that we don't have coles he should have a really good chance at being our number 2 wr. I even told people when we drafted Cotch to watch out for him he is going to do special things.

I just feel that right now with the QBs that we have in KC and Sanchez they will need a really good running game which we have if we can keep TJ, LW, and sign Greene. They well also need WRs that can at least catch the ball when it is thrown to them and with Cotch, Stuckey, and Keller I really don't think we are in that bad of a position. Plus the defense just has to make stops and get the ball into our QBs hands to make plays.

    Am I being to optimistic?

This is the point in the thread where someone usually gives a speech about how Stuckey can only be a slot receiver. Still don't get that one, I'm convinced Stuckey is as fast as Coles and Cotch were last year and he's at least as tall.

Stuckey can be our Wes Welker. But don't we still need a deep threat, not to mention a big strong red-zone target?? Is there any hope for the 6-5 WR we drafted last year helping us at all in that department??

We drafted Marcus Henry late last year who was 6' 4" and he never made it. Hopefully Whitaker can make a name for himself w/the Jets.

Let's get rid of Ainge's ass, keep B. Smith as the #3 quarterback and then we can carry 6 receivers on the 53: Cotchery, Clowney, Stuckey, Wright, Smith and Whitaker/Henry.

Question: could we dress Smith as the sixth receiver and play him on the 53 without violating the rule that you can't have your #3 QB play and still be able to use #1, #2 at any point in the game?

    Nice.

The last thing i want the Jets doing is trading with next years pick. DEPTH! Can we have one full draft please. Thanks.

Hey, if Stuckey wants to prove me wrong, he can be my guest. I like him. But we need Clowney or Smith to step up, too, and Stuckey could be a dynamic slot receiver.

But Stuckey is more than a slot receiver. He could be a dynamic slot receiver but I don't think you pigeon hole him like that. He's got a ton of talent. Only reason he fell to the 7th was injury issues.

Did Leberfield really spell "clamor" as clammer? What a moron!

I know that it was an error in the original source (hence the [sic]). I am just amazed that a writer for a major newspaper could make that kind of error.
